Fortifications of Birgu

The fortifications of Birgu are a series of defensive walls and other fortifications which surround the city of Birgu, Malta. The first fortification to be built was Fort Saint Angelo in the Middle Ages, and the majority of the fortifications were built between the 16th and 18th centuries by the Order of Saint John. Most of the fortifications remain largely intact today.

National Inventory of the Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands

The National Inventory of the Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands (NICPMI) is a heritage register listing the cultural property of Malta. The inventory includes properties such as archaeological sites, fortifications, religious buildings, monuments and other buildings. The NICPMI is under the responsibility of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage (SCH), which was founded in 2002 to replace the Antiquities Act. The NICPMI was established on 16 December 2011.

Naxxar Entrenchment

The Naxxar Entrenchment is an infantry entrenchment in Naxxar, Malta, which was built in the 18th century by the Order of Saint John. Today, it lies in ruins but is still the best preserved inland entrenchment in Malta. It is a list monument of the NICPMI.

Corte Capitanale

The Corte Capitanale is a former courthouse in Mdina, Malta, which currently serves as a city hall. It was built in the Baroque style between 1726 and 1728, to designs of the French architect Charles François de Mondion. The building is linked to Palazzo Vilhena, but it has its own entrance and façade.

St. Ubaldesca Church

The St. Ubaldesca Church is a 17th-century baroque church built during the Order of St. John in Paola, Malta. The building is a historic landmark, being the oldest church established in the locality and is listed on the National Inventory of the Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands (NICPMI).

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Church, Fgura

The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is a late 20th century Parish church in Fgura, Malta. It was designed in 1981 by Architect and Engineer Godfrey Azzopardi and built in 1988. The presbytery was designed a year before its construction by Edward Micallef. The building is a listed monument and an active Roman Catholic Church.

Casa Perellos Country residence in Żejtun, Malta

Casa Perellos is a Baroque townhouse, originally a country residence with open country views, in Żejtun, Malta. It was built as a private property purposely intended for the then Grand Master of the Order of St John Ramón Perellós y Rocafull and his family. It is now a private residence, generally not open to the public, and is a landmark on its own as well as part of a heritage trail in the city.
