Since its establishment, the museum has been known by various names while retaining its primary function. These include "The Museum of Algerian Antiquities," "The Algerian Museum of Ancient Antiquities and Islamic Arts," "The Stéphane Gsell Museum," named after one of the most renowned French archaeologists, and "The National Museum of Antiquities." Bani Warthilan MuseumFounded on August 20, 2018The Ben Werthilan Museum is located in the municipality of Ben Werthilan, approximately 80 kilometers north of Sétif. The museum covers an area of 1,650 square meters and includes the following facilities:
  • A main entrance leading to a lobby of 20 square meters.
  • A main exhibition hall measuring 30 square meters.
  • A multi-purpose exhibition hall of 20 square meters.
  • A conservation room of 12 square meters.
  • A documentation room of 12 square meters.
  • A lecture hall covering 250 square meters, equipped with 150 seats.
  • A VIP room of 20 square meters.
  • Additional annexes and corridors spanning 19 square meters.

Jamila Site MuseumFounded in 1910The Museum discovered during excavations conducted at the site from 1909 to 1957. The museum consists of four halls:
  • First Hall (1910): This hall features mosaics displayed on its walls and floors, covering an area of approximately 60 square meters.
  • Second Hall (1915): Details regarding the exhibits in this hall are not specified.
  • Third Hall (1930): This is the largest exhibition hall in the Timgad Museum and contains significant mosaics, including the renowned "Mosaic of the Hunting Myth." The total area of the mosaics in this hall is approximately 519 square meters.

The Algerian Footballer of the Year is an annual football award for the best Algerian player presented by El Heddaf-Le Buteur since 2001. The first winner of the award was Olympique de Marseille midfielder Djamel Belmadi. As of 2015, only Karim Ziani, Madjid Bougherra and Riyad Mahrez have won the award on two consecutive occasions. Of the five, only Karim Ziani won his awards playing for two different teams.

Algeria competed at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain over 10 days from 22 June to 1 July 2018. In this session, Algeria participated with 233 athletes in 24 sports, the second largest participation after the Algeria Games in 1975. After a little late over an hour flight, the special plane that transported the Algerian delegation landed on the tarmac of the regional Airport of Reus, Catalonia. The first wave of the Algerian delegation, 144 people including 67 athletes, 7 referees, 8 COA members, 10 medical staff and journalists. The first medal in the games was in karate by Oualid Bouabaoub in bronze weight −75 kg kumite, is the only one on the first day, The first gold medal was awarded to Hocine Daïkhi in Karate, also weighing +84 kg kumite, then in the evening the swimmer Oussama Sahnoune achieved the second Golden Medal of the 100 m freestyle, the first of its kind in swimming since Almería 2005. On the third day, Sahnoune managed to add a second medal in his 50 m freestyle of silver, the first for Algeria of this type in this games. In Wrestling Greco-Roman, Algeria achieved two silver medals for Bachir Sid Azara in −87 kg and Adem Boudjemline in −97 kg after losing in the final against both Metehan Başar and Mélonin Noumonvi respectively.

Anouar H. Smaine is an Algerian film director, producer, actor, and screenwriter. He is the son of Algerian playwright and actor Hadj Smaine, and a French professor.

Trans Homos DZ is an Algerian organization that advocates for the rights of LGBTQI+ communities in Algeria. Since its creation, the NGO has been working to document violations based on sexual differences and to implement strategies to protect the community. Additionally, it provides victims with support, whether related to their health concerns, legal procedures, or social integration. The organization leads numerous campaigns denouncing violations against Algerian women and LGBTQ+ communities.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Algeria at the 2019 African Games</span> Sporting event delegation

Algeria competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. On 17 August, judo events began two days before the opening ceremony on the first day, Algeria achieved 9 medals, including two gold medals by Wail Ezzine in weight 66 kg and Faïza Aissahine in weight 52 kg. On the second and last day were content with only two medals silver and bronze.

The 2020–21 season will be the 58th season of competitive association football in Algeria. The Algerian Football Federation had endorses the change of the competition system by increasing the number of clubs from 16 to 20, as for the second division to 36 clubs from two groups Central East and Central West from 18 clubs also became the number of professional clubs 18 instead of 32 starting from the season 2020–21.

Algeria competed at the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Oran, Algeria over 10 days from 25 June to 5 July 2022 with delegation of 522 persons, including 293 men and 182 women. The country finished the Games with 53 medals amongst all nations: 20 gold, 17 silver, and 16 bronze. This is the best participation in the history of Algeria, breaking the number of the 2001 Mediterranean Games. The sports with the most medals were Athletics, Karate and Boxing. The first medals Algeria earned were in Karate, where Algeria won six medals, including four golds by Cylia Ouikene, Louiza Abouriche and Chaima Midi for women's and Oussama Zaid for men's. In Boxing, Algeria participated with fifteen men's and women's boxers, 13 of whom won medals including five golds through Jugurtha Ait Bekka, Roumaysa Boualam, Hadjila Khelif, Imane Khelif and Yahia Abdelli. The third specialty in terms of medals is strong Athletics with a total of 13 medals, including five golds, by Bilal Tabti in 3000 m steeplechase, Yasser Triki in Triple jump, Bilel Afer in high jump, Djamel Sedjati in 800 m and finally the Men's 4×400 m relay team.
