<i>Samantha!</i> Brazilian comedy series

Samantha! is a Brazilian comedy streaming television series. It is the first Brazilian comedy produced by Netflix and the third Netflix series produced in Brazil, after 3% and O Mecanismo. The first season was released on July 6, 2018. It is directed by Luis Pinheiros and Julia Jordão, and scripted by Roberto Vitorino, Patricia Corso, Rafael Lessa and Filipe Valerim. The series follows Samantha, a former child star who had her own TV show and led the children's musical group Turminha Plimplom in the 1980s, and now schemes to launch herself back into the spotlight.

The presidency of Jair Bolsonaro started on January 1, 2019, when he was inaugurated as the 38th president of Brazil, and will end on December 31, 2022. He was elected the president of Brazil on October 28, 2018, by obtaining 55.1% of the valid votes in the 2018 Brazilian general election, defeating Fernando Haddad. On October 30, 2022, Bolsonaro was defeated by Lula Da Silva. In the 37 years Brazil has been in a Democracy, Bolsonaro became the first president to lose an election as an incumbent.

General elections were held on 2 October 2022 in Brazil to elect the president, vice president, the National Congress, the governors, vice governors, and legislative assemblies of all federative units, and the district council of Fernando de Noronha. As no candidate for president—or for governor in some state races—received more than half of the valid votes in the first round, a runoff election for these offices were held on 30 October. The Superior Electoral Court declared leftist former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as the winner of the election, defeating the incumbent far-right president Jair Bolsonaro. On 1 November, Bolsonaro did not concede defeat in his first public remarks since losing the 30 October election but stopped short of contesting the election result and authorized his chief of staff, Ciro Nogueira Lima Filho, to begin the transition process with representatives of president-elect Lula on 3 November.

The virus was confirmed to have spread to Brazil on 25 February 2020, when a man from São Paulo who had traveled to Italy tested positive for the virus. The disease had spread to every federative unit of Brazil by 21 March. On 19 June 2020, the country reported its one millionth case and nearly 49,000 reported deaths. One estimate of under-reporting was 22.62% of total reported COVID-19 mortality in 2020.

PerifaCon, also informally called Comic Con da Favela, is a comic book event held since 2019 in São Paulo with a focus on reaching mainly the public from the outskirts of São Paulo, who are hardly able to participate in large events such as CCXP due to cost and distance.
