Abuja is the capital and eighth most populous city of Nigeria. Situated at the centre of the country within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), it is a planned city built mainly in the 1980s based on a master plan by International Planning Associates (IPA), a consortium of three American planning and architecture firms made up of Wallace, Roberts, McHarg & Todd as the lead, Archisystems International, and Planning Research Corporation. The Central Business District of Abuja was designed by Japanese architect Kenzo Tange. It replaced Lagos, the country's most populous city, as the capital on 12 December 1991.
Nasarawa State is a state in the North Central region of Nigeria, bordered to the east by the states of Taraba and Plateau, to the north by Kaduna State, to the south by the states of Kogi and Benue, and to the west by the Federal Capital Territory. Named for the historic Nasarawa Emirate, the state was formed from the west of Plateau State on 1 October 1996. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian entrance examination board for tertiary-level institutions. The board conducts entrance Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for prospective undergraduates into Nigerian universities. The board is also charged with the responsibility to administer similar examinations for applicants to Nigerian public and private monotechnics, polytechnics, and colleges of educations. All of these candidates must have obtained the West Africa Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) conducted yearly by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, or its equivalent, National Examination Council (Nigeria), Senior School Certificate Examination, NECO SSCE.

Dorben Polytechnic has its main campus located in Garam, Niger State, Nigeria, and another campus just to the north in Suleja, Niger State. It is usually addressed as Dorben Polytechnic (Bwari) Abuja, since it originally had its main campus in Bwari, Abuja. Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev is a tertiary institution in Yandev near Gboko, Benue State, Nigeria. The college dates back to 1926 when the British colonial government established a farm training center at Yandev, then in Tiv province of the Northern Region. In 1973, the Benue-Plateau State government upgraded the center to a school of Agriculture with an initial enrollment of 23 students. In 1983, the Department of Agriculture of the Murtala College of Arts, Science and Technology, Makurdi was merged with the school. In April 1991, the school was renamed the Akperan Orshi College of Agriculture, Yandev after Dr. James Akperan Orshi, the late monarch of the Tiv nation. The college now has over 2,000 students on a campus that covers 231 hectares.
Adamawa State Polytechnic is a tertiary educational institution in Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria. It was established in 1991 through a merger of the College of Preliminary Studies Yola and the Staff Development Institute, Numan. The new polytechnic provides national diploma programs in computer science, statistics, accountancy, business studies and secretarial studies. The polytechnic, run by the State government, is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education. The institution has become affiliated with the University of Maiduguri for the purpose of running degree programmes.
Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic is a tertiary learning institution in Bori City, Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, Nigeria. It has two campuses, one for the School of Management Sciences and the other for the School of Engineering. It is approved as a state-owned polytechnic by the National Board for Technical Education. The Polytechnic, Ibadan is an institution of higher learning in Ibadan in Oyo State, Nigeria. Founded in 1970, Poly Ibadan is similar to other polytechnics in Nigeria. The institution was established to provide an alternative higher education to universities, particularly in technical skill acquisition. The vocational and skills acquisition centre is poised to ensure that students master a skill before leaving the institution and also provides skills training to the host community. Poly Ibadan is also well known for its unique slogan written in Yoruba language as "Ise loogun ise" which means 'Work is the medicine for poverty', a classical Yoruba adage which stresses that hard work is the way out of poverty.

Jwalshik Wilford is a professional Nigerian chemist. He is the third substantive Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON); a parastatal of Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) that regulates the teaching, learning and standard best practice of the Chemistry profession in Nigeria. As a professional, his major focus is the repositioning and projecting of the Chemistry profession to promote the role(s) of chemists in addressing global challenges. Before his appointment on 1 June 2018, he was a deputy director of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Water Board where he served most of his professional career. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON) and the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN). His research interests are in the areas of Water Safety, Contaminants of Emerging Concerns (CECs) in raw water sources and the distribution network and new methods of water analyses and treatment.
Ramat Polytechnic is a state tertiary institution of learning in Maiduguri Borno State, Nigeria. It was established by the government of the defunct North-Eastern State in January 1973 as Government Technical College.
