List of the best Czech basketball players of the 20th century

The Czech Basketball Federation and The Association of Czech Basketball League Clubs, announced the Czechoslovakian All-20th Century Basketball Team. A total of twenty-five basketball players were selected for the All-Century Team. It was decided by a vote of fans, sports journalists, and basketball experts. The results were announced on Saturday June 16, 2001. Jiri Zidek Sr., was chosen as The Best Czech Basketball Player of the 20th Century.

The Czechoslovakia men's national ice hockey team was the national ice hockey team of Czechoslovakia, and competed from 1920 until 1992. The successor to the Bohemia national ice hockey team, which was a European power prior to World War I, the Czechoslovak national team first appeared at the 1920 Summer Olympics, two years after the creation of the state. In the 1940s, they established themselves as the best team in Europe, becoming the first team from the continent to win two World Championships. Jiří "George" Zídek Jr., is a Czech former professional basketball player who is a sports commentator. He played college basketball in the United States for the UCLA Bruins from 1991 to 1995. He then became the first Czech player ever drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA), when he was selected by the Charlotte Hornets in the first round of the 1995 NBA draft. He played in the NBA for a total of three seasons and then played professionally in Europe, before retiring in 2006.

Jiří Zídek Sr. was a Czech professional basketball player and coach. At 2.06 metres tall, Zídek was a talented center, and is considered by many to be the best Czech basketball player ever. He was named the Best Czech Player of the 20th Century. He was also among the 105 nominees to the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors list. His son, Jiří "George" Zídek Jr., also won the EuroLeague title with Žalgiris, in 1999. To this day, they are the only father and son to have reached a EuroLeague title game as players. In 2019, he became the first Czech to be inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame.

The Czech Basketball Federation and Association of League Clubs pronounced the public inquiry about the best Czech basketball men's players of the last century. Voting of fans, journalists, and experts decided winners of the public inquiry. Results were announced by the festive occasion in Karlovy Vary on Saturday June 16th, 2001. The best Czech basketball player of the last century was announced to be Jiří Zídek Sr.
