Gazi University is a public university primarily located in Ankara, Turkey. It was established in 1926 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as Gazi Teacher Training Institute. In 1982, it was reorganized by merging with the Bolu Academy of Engineering and Architecture, Ankara Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, the Ankara College of Technical Careers, the Ankara Girls' College of Technical Careers, and the Ankara State Academy of Engineering and Architecture to become a large metropolitan university as part of the act which created the Board of Higher Education. Prior to 1982 when the Board of Higher Education Law came into effect, institutes of higher education in Turkey were organized under different structures as universities, academies, institutes, and schools. In 1992 faculties and vocational schools in Bolu became Abant Izzet Baysal University.

Divriği Great Mosque and Hospital 13th-century Anatolian beylik-era mosque in central Turkey

Divriği Great Mosque and Hospital is a mosque and hospital complex built in 1228–1229 by the local dynasty of the Mengujekids in the small Anatolian town of Divriği, now in Sivas Province, Turkey. The complex is located in the upper town, below the citadel. The exquisite stone carvings and eclectic architecture of the complex places it among the most important works of architecture in Anatolia and led to its inclusion on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1985.

Architecture of Turkey or Turkish Architecture in the Republican Period refers to the architecture practised in the territory of present-day Turkey since the foundation of the republic in 1923. In the first years of the republic, Turkish architecture was influenced by Seljuk and Ottoman architecture, in particular during the First National Architectural Movement However, starting from the 1930s, architectural styles began to differ from traditional architecture, also as a result of an increasing number of foreign architects being invited to work in the country, mostly from Germany and Austria. The Second World War was a period of isolation, during which the Second National Architectural Movement emerged. Similar to Fascist architecture, the movement aimed to create a modern but nationalistic architecture.

Georgia–Turkey relations Bilateral relations

Georgian–Turkish relations are foreign relations between Georgia and Turkey. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Turkey recognized the independence of Georgia on 16 December 1991. The formal Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries was signed on 21 May 1992. A free trade agreement is currently in force. Georgia has an embassy in Ankara, and two consulates–general in Istanbul and Trabzon. Turkey has an embassy in Tbilisi, and a consulate–general in Batumi. Both countries are full members of the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the BLACKSEAFOR, the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and the World Trade Organization. Turkey is already a member of NATO, while Georgia is a candidate.

Gürsöğüt Dam is a rock-fill embankment dam on the Sakarya River in Ankara Province, Turkey. The development was backed by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works. The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power generation and it supports a 242 MW power station.

Kesikköprü Dam Dam in Near Ankara, Turkey

Kesikköprü Dam is a 49-metre (161 ft)-tall earthen embankment dam on the Kızılırmak River near Ankara, Turkey. The development was backed by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works. Construction on the dam began in 1959 and was finished in 1966. The dam irrigates an area of 6,600 hectares and has a maximum hydroelectricity production of 76 MW.

Yenice Dam is a dam on the Sakarya River near Yenice on the border of Eskişehir and Ankara Province, Turkey. It houses a 38 MW hydroelectric power station. It was constructed between 1985 and 2000. The development was backed by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works.

March 2016 Ankara bombing Terrorist attack in Ankara, Turkey, by Kurdish militants

The March 2016 Ankara bombing killed at least 37 people and injured 125. Of the 125 individuals who suffered injuries, 19 of them were seriously harmed. Several buildings were also damaged during the event, and a bus and many cars were reportedly completely destroyed.

Çayırhan power station is a 620 MW operational coal fired power station in Turkey and a proposed 800 MW extension, in Ankara Province. In 2019 land was expropriated for another lignite mine, to feed the new plant, which is being opposed as uneconomic and polluting.
