Ankara is the capital of Turkey. Located in the central part of Anatolia, the city has a population of 5.1 million in its urban center and 5.8 million in Ankara Province. Ankara is Turkey's second-largest city after Istanbul by population, first by urban area (4,130 km2), and third by metro area (25,632 km2).

Bilkent University is a non-profit private university located in Ankara, Turkey. It was founded by İhsan Doğramacı, the first president of The Council of Higher Education and the head of the prominent Doğramacı family, with the aim of creating a center of excellence in higher education and research in 1984. It has constantly been ranked among the top Turkish universities since its establishment. In 2011, it was ranked 112th in the world by The World University Rankings. Bilkent University was modeled after Harvard University and was the first non-profit private university established in the country. The name Bilkent is an abbreviation of bilim kenti: Turkish for "city of science".

Erdal İnönü was a Turkish theoretical physicist and politician who served as the interim prime minister of Turkey between 16 May and 25 June 1993. He also served as the deputy prime minister of Turkey from 1991 to 1993 and as the minister of foreign affairs from March to October 1995. He served as the leader of the Social Democracy Party (SODEP) from 1983 to 1985 and later the Social Democratic Populist Party (SHP) from 1986 to 1993. He was the son of the second president of Turkey, İsmet İnönü.

Gazi University is a public university located primarily in Ankara, Turkey. It was established in 1926 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as Gazi Teacher Training Institute. In 1982, it was reorganized by merging with the Bolu Academy of Engineering and Architecture, Ankara Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, the Ankara College of Technical Careers, the Ankara Girls' College of Technical Careers, and the Ankara State Academy of Engineering and Architecture to form a large metropolitan university as part of the act which created the Board of Higher Education. Prior to 1982 when the Board of Higher Education Law came into effect, institutions of higher education in Turkey were organized under different structures as universities, academies, institutes, and schools. In 1992, the faculties and vocational schools in Bolu became Abant Izzet Baysal University.

Kesikköprü Dam is a 49-metre (161 ft)-tall earthen embankment dam on the Kızılırmak River near Ankara, Turkey. The development was backed by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works. Construction on the dam began in 1959 and was finished in 1966. The dam irrigates an area of 6,600 hectares and has a maximum hydroelectricity production of 76 MW.

The Ankara Synagogue is a Jewish congregation and synagogue located on Birlik Street, in Ankara, in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey. Completed in 1834, the stone synagogue was built in Ulus, the tumbling old quarter of Turkey's capital. The synagogue was radically refurbished by an Italian architect in 1906. The historical building is kept closed most of the year as it cannot find the required number of congregation members for worship.
Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, shortened AHBV, is a public university in Turkey which was formed on 18 May 2018 by the separation from Gazi University. Some faculties which have been separated from Gazi University in accordance with the law no 7141 such as Gazi University Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Letters have been become a part of newly established Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. The Besevler Campus is located in the city center of Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. Besevler Campus, which has the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, has graduated many famous people who are active in Turkish politics. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu of the Republican People's Party, the leader of the main opposition party in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, and Devlet Bahçeli, the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party, have graduated from the aforementioned Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
