The Lithuania women's national volleyball team represents Lithuania in international women's volleyball competitions and friendly matches.
Although volleyball was always regularly played in Lithuania, both the country's men's and women's national teams were inactive for a long period. In 2013 the Lithuania women's national volleyball team participated in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship qualification (CEV) tournament, the first Lithuanian team international appearance after their extended absence. Sportin Lithuania is governed by the Physical Education and Sports Department following the country's independence from the Soviet Union in 1990. The Lithuanian government established the department to manage physical education in the schools and sports administration in the country. Over the next few years, Lithuanian sports organizations established membership in international governing bodies. Lithuania participated in the Winter Olympics in Albertville and has participated in every Winter and Summer Olympics since.

The Lithuania women's national football team represents Lithuania in international women's football and is controlled by the Lithuanian Football Federation, the governing body for football in Lithuania.
World ParaVolley, formerly the World Organization Volleyball for Disabled (WOVD), is an international organization that is for people with physical disabilities. It is affiliated with the International Paralympic Committee(IPC). The World Organization Volleyball for Disabled was established in 1981 and was part of the International Sports Organization for Disabled (ISOD). In 1992 the WOVD became its own separate Organization in Barcelona, Spain. The WOVD Headquarters were also established in the Netherlands. The WOVD is responsible for managing and controlling the conduct of international volleyball competitions for men, women and youth. The WOVD also liaises with IPC (as an independent organisation) and with other organizations for people with or without disabilities. The organization adopted its present name World ParaVolley at its 2014 general assembly.
Volleyball has been played consistently at the Mediterranean Games since the year 1959 for men and since the year 1975 for women. The Italy men's national volleyball team are the most successful men's team and also the Italy women's national volleyball team is the most successful team for women.

Indrė Sorokaitė is a Lithuanian-born Italian volleyball player. She plays for Il Bisonte Firenze and for the Italy women's national volleyball team. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
