Little Five Fest was amusic festival in Atlanta, Ga. The event partnered with several local venues and featured 50 or so local bands as an annual showcase of the Music of Atlanta. The event started in 2004 as "Othersound Music Festival" and evolved over the years to take on a more general tone representing the entire area of Little 5 Points and as an alternative to the mainstream music festival Music Midtown. The festival focused on local and independent music groups: "Focusing on bands just under the indie mainstream radar, the Other Sound Music Festival has a rich history of booking the right bands.". [1] The festival usually features bands from local label mainstays like Rob's House Records, Die Slaughterhaus Records and ISP-Music (Industrial Strength Promotions) among others. While previous festivals focused heavily on rock music, the festival featured a variety of musical genres including Rap, Hip-hop, Country, Electronic Music, DJ sets, performance art and theater.

In 2012 the venues were hosted at Criminal Records music and comic book shop, Aurora Coffee and three stages at the Star Bar.

According to Creative Loafing (Atlanta), the 2012 festival was scheduled to take place on September 29, 2012, [4] will feature over 90 bands and is spread across 9 venues. [5]

Sponsors and supporters

While the festival is usually sponsored mostly by local record labels and businesses, there have been a number of nationally known sponsors such as Pabst Blue Ribbon (produced by the Pabst Brewing Company), the High Museum of Art, Creative Loafing, Zipcar, Orange Amplification, Scoutmob and Whynatte Latte.

Neverworld, formerly known as LeeFest, is a music festival that takes place each Summer in Kent, England. The festival began in founder Lee Denny's garden when his parents went away on holiday in 2006. Eyedrum

Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery is a non-profit art space and venue in Atlanta, Georgia, founded by American painter Woody Cornwell and musician and journalist Marshall Avett, and focused on contemporary art and experimental music ranging from contemporary chamber music and sound sculpture to drone noise music and art rock. Until January 1, 2011, the organization was located in the Old Fourth Ward district, and had three art gallery spaces and one space for music and performance. It hosted approximately 180 events yearly. Established in 1998, Eyedrum is one of the longest-running art and performance spaces in Atlanta managed by volunteers.

Hevy Music Festival was a rock festival established by Claire Baker and James that took place annually near Folkestone, Kent, in the UK. It was originally held on 1 August 2009 on Folkestone seafront as a one-day festival with Feeder, Gary Numan and Ash as headliners. In 2010 it moved to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and grew to a weekend camping festival held from 6–8 August. The headline artists included Glassjaw, Gallows, Sepultura and the Subways, and the festival provided a variety of rock music genres including punk rock, alternative rock, hardcore punk and heavy metal along with extreme sports displays and state-of-the-art thrill rides.

Superfly (company)

Superfly is a New York-based marketing and event company. Founded in New Orleans in 1996 as a Superfly Presents, they help produce Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival and previously owned and produced the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. A marketing division was established in 2009, and in 2014 the company name was shortened to Superfly.

Atlanta's mild climate and plentiful trees allow for festivals and events to take place in the city year-round. One of the city's most popular events is the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, an arts and crafts festival held in Piedmont Park each spring, when the native dogwoods are in bloom. Atlanta Streets Alive, inspired by the ciclovía in Bogotá, Colombia, closes city streets to car traffic to allow people to participate in health and community-oriented, such as bicycling, strolling, skating, people-watching, tango, yoga, hula hooping, and break dancing.

Treefort Music Fest Annual music festival in Boise, Idaho, United States

The Treefort Music Fest is a five-day, indie rock festival which is held at numerous venues throughout downtown Boise, Idaho in late March. The inaugural 2012 festival took place March 20–23 with the featured acts Built to Spill, The Joy Formidable, and Poliça. Treefort has been called "the west’s best SXSW alternative" and "Boise's preeminent artistic, cultural and musical happening" which has "morphed from quirky music festival to consuming community event." It has also been characterized as having become a "nationally renowned gathering just by maintaining its personable close-knit vibe" and a "music lover's joyous mayhem" which showcases and amplifies the soul of Boise. Given its track record, by its seventh year Treefort was being hailed as "the greatest music festival in the country" and "an absolute gem of a festival."

Center Stage is a mid-sized concert complex comprising three separate venues located in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally known as Theatre Atlanta, the concert hall was built in memorial to a young theater enthusiast. Upon its opening in the fall of 1966, the building functioned as a performing arts theater, but has since become primarily music-focused.

SweetWater 420 Fest

The SweetWater 420 Fest is an annual event presented by SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta, Georgia held on a weekend closest to Earth Day. In 2014, the festival announced it would be celebrating its 10th anniversary at its new home in Centennial Olympic Park.
