The idea for the album was inspired by a fan who wrote Paul McCartney inquiring about "Seaside Woman", a song Wings released under the name Suzy and the Red Stripes featuring Linda on lead vocals.
"Little Green Bag" is a 1969 song written by Dutch musicians Jan Visser and George Baker, and recorded by the George Baker Selection at the band's own expense. The track was released as the George Baker Selection's debut single by Dutch label Negram, the B-side being "Pretty Little Dreamer".
Yesterday is an EP by English rock band the Beatles, released on 4 March 1966 by Parlophone in the UK. The Beatles' 11th EP, it was also released in Portugal, Spain and Brazil. The EP was released in mono only, and the cover photograph was taken by Robert Whitaker.
Silver is the 25th anniversary studio album by American country singer Johnny Cash, released on Columbia Records in 1979. It peaked at #28 on the Billboard albums chart. "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky" peaked at #2 on the singles chart; the two other singles, "Bull Rider" and "I'll Say It's True", had reached #66 and #42, respectively. Recordings of "Cocaine Blues" had previously appeared on At Folsom Prison and Now, There Was a Song!, under the title "Transfusion Blues" on the latter. The album was produced by Brian Ahern, who controversially introduced digital elements into the songs to the disapproval of some listeners. This is the last album that featured bassist Marshall Grant, longtime Cash collaborator in Tennessee Two. He departed from Cash's band the following year.

Two other singles, "Old Folks," a duet with Mike Reid; and "Button Off My Shirt" peaked at #2 and #4 respectively on the country charts. "Button Off My Shirt" was also recorded that same year by Mike + The Mechanics & Ace vocalist Paul Carrack for his solo album "One Good Reason".

Before then, Voormann had been a member of the 1960s pop group Manfred Mann. A Sideman's Journey is notable for including performances by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Yusuf Islam, among others.
