Liu Yulin is a Chinese film director, a graduate with the Master of Fine Arts degree from the Graduate Film program of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. In 2014, her short narrative film Door God, which is about a girl in China awaiting the return of her mother, won her the first international film prize - silver medal under the narrative category at the 41st Student Academy Awards. [5] The same film later won in the category of Best Woman Student Filmmaker at the 20th Annual Directors Guild of America Student Film Awards - East Region. [6] With her NYU thesis film Someone to Talk To, [7] which is adapted from her father Liu Zhenyun's award-winning novel One Sentence Is Ten Thousand Sentences, she made her feature film debut in October 2016 at the New Currents section at the 21st Busan International Film Festival.

Her debut feature, Una Noche, also won Best Cinematography and Best Actor. Kim Bora is a South Korean filmmaker. Her short film, The Recorder Exam won numerous awards including the Best Student Filmmaker Award from The Directors Guild of America. The film was also a National Finalist for the 2012 Student Academy Awards. Kim’s debut feature House of Hummingbird received production support from the Korean Film Council, Seoul Film Commission and Asian Cinema Fund of Busan International Film Festival. The film received post-production support from the Sundance Institute’s Feature Film Program and was selected as an IFP Narrative Lab Fellow. It premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, where it won the NETPAC award and the KNN Audience award. The film went on to collect 59 awards from prestigious festivals, including Berlinale, Tribeca, BFI London, Istanbul, Jerusalem, and a Blue Dragon award—Korea’s equivalent of an Oscar.

Nicholas Ma is a Chinese-American film director and producer who is best known for producing the 2018 award-winning documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor?.
