Liu Zhongsheng (born 1973-10-25 in Laiwu, Shandong) is a male Chinese sports shooter. He competed for Team China at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Honorary Captain Subedar Major Vijay Kumar Sharma Padma Shri, AVSM, SM is an Indian sport shooter. He won the silver medal in the individual 25 metre rapid fire pistol event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Kumar hails from Barsar village of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh and is a retired Subedar Major in the Dogra Regiment Indian Army. Vijay Kumar is supported by the Olympic Gold Quest initiative. He has been posted at Indian Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) Mhow since 2003 where he is being coached by the Russian Pavel Smirnov.

Jin Jong-oh is a South Korean sports shooter who competed at the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. The only individual four-time Olympic champion in shooting, he is the most successful individual shooter at the Olympics, being the only athlete to have won three consecutive Olympic gold medals in an event in shooting. He holds the world record in both 10 metre air pistol and 50 metre pistol as well as the final world record in 50 metre pistol.

This article details the qualifying phase for shooting at the 2016 Summer Olympics. 366 quota places for the Games are entitled to the shooters coming from their respective NOCs, based on the results at designated ISSF supervised Championships subjected to the ISSF rules from August 1, 2014 to March 31, 2016, while the remaining twenty-four are available to the eligible NOCs under the Tripartite Commission Invitation to get a total quota of 390.
