Live Free or Die is an American reality series hosted by The National Geographic Channel. The premise of the show is to follow the lives of people attempting to live in backwoods and swamps, freed from technology and relying on nature to survive.

The cast must sustain themselves through hunting, fishing, bartering, living in the forest, and surviving off of the land. The characters of the series live in shelters with only raw materials found, created, or bartered. [1]

Each participant offers survival tips and advice as a cameraman follows them through tasks. [2]
