KCRW is a National Public Radio member station broadcasting from the campus of Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, where the station is licensed. KCRW airs original news and music programming in addition to programming from NPR and other affiliates. A network of repeaters and broadcast translators, as well as internet radio, allows the station to serve the Greater Los Angeles area and other communities in Southern California. The station's main transmitter is located in Los Angeles's Laurel Canyon district and broadcasts in the HD radio format. It is one of two full NPR members in the Los Angeles area; Pasadena-based KPCC is the other.
Concord Dawn is a New Zealand drum and bass group, active since mid-1999, consisting of Matt Harvey. Until 2010, Evan Short was one half of the group. They were courted by local electronic music label Kog Transmissions and released their first album, Concord Dawn, in July 2000.
Sounds Eclectic, no longer being broadcast on radio, is a weekly syndicated public radio program hosted by Nic Harcourt that plays a variety of music, often by emerging artists. A trademark of the program is recordings of live sessions from artists both established and new, taken from the archives of the daily KCRW program Morning Becomes Eclectic. A number of well known bands, such as Coldplay, Norah Jones, Dido, Jem, Sigur Rós and David Gray were featured on the show before they achieved widespread fame.
Reminisce Mackie, known professionally as Remy Ma, is an American rapper. She was initially discovered by Big Pun, and came to prominence for her work as a member of Fat Joe’s group, Terror Squad. On February 7, 2006, she released her debut studio album There's Something About Remy: Based on a True Story, which was a modest success, peaking at number 33 on the Billboard 200 chart. She is one of only five female rappers to ever top the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and one of only three multiple winners of the BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, which she won in 2005 and 2017.

Morning Becomes Eclectic (MBE) is a three-hour adult album alternative radio program first aired in 1977 and broadcast live every weekday from KCRW in Santa Monica, California. The show's name is a play on the Eugene O'Neill trilogy of plays, Mourning Becomes Electra.
Villa Elaine was Remy Zero's second studio album, released in 1998 and produced for Geffen Records. After recording the album, Radiohead, who the band had toured with previously, added Remy Zero to their tour in support of OK Computer. The band also toured with Scottish band Travis. The album became popular for the song "Prophecy", which was used on the soundtrack for the movies She's All That and The Last Kiss. The song "Fair" was used on Zach Braff's Grammy award-winning soundtrack to the movie Garden State and, more recently, featured in the movie Fanboys. "Hermes Bird" was used in the TV series Felicity and Charmed. "Problem" appeared on the soundtrack for the Drew Barrymore film Never Been Kissed.

Remy Zero is a 1996 self-titled album by Remy Zero, and was produced for Geffen Records. The band recorded it after moving to Los Angeles, where many of them suffered from homelessness and drug abuse. The Album received very little attention despite Radiohead having added Remy Zero to their tour after hearing Remy Zero's original Demo Tapes that appeared on KCRW, a radio station in Santa Monica.
