Susan Elizabeth Earle MBE (born 1963) [1] is a British entrepreneur. She co-founded the Liz Earle Beauty Co., a skincare company, in 1995. [2] She has written over 35 books on beauty, nutrition, and wellbeing and was regularly seen on ITV's This Morning. She is the founder of Liz Earle Wellbeing, a wellness website, [2] and Liz Earle Fair and Fine, a Fairtrade jewellery brand. [3] She is the host of The Liz Earle Wellbeing Show podcast.

Background

Earle was born and grew up in Portsmouth. She took a course in hotel management and catering at Westminster College and then went to work for Molton Brown. [1] [4] Earle started as a beauty writer for Woman's Journal . During this time she wrote her first book, Vital Oils. [5] She has since published more than 30 books on beauty, health, and wellbeing topics. [6] [7]

In 1995 together with her friend Kim Buckland, she co-founded Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare on the Isle of Wight, which later became the Liz Earle Beauty Co. In 2010 it was sold to Avon. [8] In 2015 Avon sold the Liz Earle Beauty Co. to Walgreens Boots Alliance for £140 million. [9] Earle remained a global ambassador to the beauty brand until 2017 [10] and then announced her departure to concentrate on new ventures. [11] In 2013, Earle set up Liz Earle Wellbeing, a wellness website and later a bi-monthly magazine, [12] podcast series and YouTube channel. [7] In 2018 Hearst UK began a publishing and partnership deal with Liz Earle Wellbeing. [13] In 2015 she founded Liz Earle Fair and Fine, an ethical jewellery range. [14]

Earle first appeared on ITV's This Morning and then left to host the first UK television programme on beauty, BBC1’s Beautywise. [15] Her own series, Liz Earle's Lifestyle, ran for three series on ITV [16] Her other TV credits include A-Z of Food and Beauty on the Carlton Food Network. [17] Earle rejoined ITV's This Morning in 2015 with a regular Inside-Out Beauty slot [18] and in 2017 filmed a mini-series in Greece and Italy on living well which was screened on This Morning in January 2018. [19] In 2018 she was featured on BBC Countryfile. [20]

Earle is divorced, has five children and lives in the West Country. [5]

Charity and campaigning

Earle was one of the founding members of the Guild of Health Writers and co-founded the Food Labelling Agenda (FLAG). [21] She is a Patron of Ace Africa; [22] is an ambassador and advocate for several food-focused charities including The Soil Association, The Sustainable Food Trust, [23] Tearfund, The Menopause Charity and Compassion in World Farming [24] and has fronted campaigns for The Prince's Trust [25] and the Royal Osteoporosis Society. [26] She is also an Ambassador for Love British Food, [27] CURE International, [28] and International Health Partners. [29]

In 2010, she founded the humanitarian charity LiveTwice. [30] In 2024 she was appointed to the board of the Centre for Social Justice.[ citation needed ] She does not belong to any political party.

Toners are typically categorized by their function and intensity into types such as skin bracers, tonics, acid toners, and astringents.

Superfood is a marketing term for food claimed to confer health benefits resulting from an exceptional nutrient density. The term is not commonly used by experts, dietitians and nutrition scientists, most of whom dispute that particular foods have the health benefits claimed by their advocates. Even without scientific evidence of exceptional nutrient content, many new, exotic, and foreign fruits or ancient grains are marketed under the term – or superfruit or supergrain respectively – after being introduced or re-introduced to Western markets.

Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (WBA) is an American multinational holding company headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois, which owns the retail pharmacy chains Walgreens in the US and Boots in the UK, as well as several pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution companies. The company was formed on December 31, 2014, after Walgreens bought the 55% stake in Alliance Boots that it did not already own. The total price of the acquisition was $4.9 billion in cash and 144.3 million common shares with fair value of $10.7 billion. Walgreens had previously purchased 45% of the company for $4.0 billion and 83.4 million common shares in August 2012 with an option to purchase the remaining shares within three years. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Activated charcoal cleanse</span> Pseudoscientific use of medicine

Activated charcoal cleanses, also known as charcoal detoxes, are a pseudoscientific use of a proven medical intervention. Activated charcoal is available in powder, tablet and liquid form. Its proponents claim the use of activated charcoal on a regular basis will detoxify and cleanse the body as well as boost one's energy and brighten the skin. Such claims violate basic principles of chemistry and physiology. There is no medical evidence for any health benefits of cleanses or detoxes via activated charcoal or any other method. Charcoal, when ingested, will absorb vitamins and nutrients as well as prescription medications present in the gastrointestinal tract which can make it dangerous to use unless directed by a medical doctor.

Inge Theron is a London-based British skincare specialist, former radio personality, columnist and entrepreneur. She is mostly known for her brand FaceGym which she founded in 2015. She specializes in the Wellbeing, Longevity and Beauty industries.
