Logan County is a county in the west central portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,150. The county seat is Bellefontaine. The county is named for Benjamin Logan, who fought Native Americans in the area. Logan County comprises the Bellefontaine, OH Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Columbus-Marion-Zanesville, OH Combined Statistical Area.

State Route 540 (SR 540) is an east–west state highway in the western portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. SR 540 has its western terminus in downtown Bellefontaine at a signalized intersection with U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and SR 47. Its eastern terminus is at a T-intersection with SR 292 approximately 3.50 miles (5.63 km) southwest of West Mansfield.
State Route 533 (SR 533) was a short two-lane north–south state highway in west central Ohio. Existing entirely within Jefferson Township, Logan County, and to the northeast of the county seat of Bellefontaine, SR 533 ran a distance of 1.8 miles (2.9 km) between SR 540 and SR 47 near the campus of Benjamin Logan Local School District. The entire route was turned over by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to Logan County jurisdiction by 2014.
State Route 28 (SR 28) is an east–west state highway in the U.S. state of Ohio. Both of the route's termini are on U.S. Route 50 (US 50). Its western end is in Milford and its eastern end is near Chillicothe. The route has an interchange with Interstate 275 (I-275), and also intersects US 68 and US 62. The route was formerly signed as SR 27 before that number was assigned to US 27 in 1926.
State Route 47 is a state highway running from the Indiana border at Union City to Waldo, about ten miles (16 km) south of Marion. In Bellefontaine, State Route 47 follows the path of different streets from Main Street and Sandusky Avenue to the intersection just north of Mary Rutan Hospital, about one-half mile north of the Main-Sandusky intersection. The westbound portion of State Route 47 goes down Main, while the eastbound portion goes north on Madriver Street during this stretch. Nobody really knows why the route was designated this way when none of the streets involved are one-way. It was State Route 68 until 1933, when U.S. Route 68 was commissioned. Since both roads run through a common county in Ohio (Logan), and also since there is a rule that there can be no Ohio State Routes with the same number as US highways within Ohio, the number was changed to 47.

The Logan County Courthouse is a historic Second Empire building located on the southeastern corner of Main Street and Columbus Avenue in downtown Bellefontaine, Ohio, United States. Built in 1870 at a cost of $105,398.08, the courthouse was constructed primarily of locally mined sandstone, and it is covered with a mansard roof. The courthouse is adjacent to Court Avenue, the first concrete street in the United States.

U.S. Route 33 (US 33) is a United States Numbered Highway running from near Elkhart, Indiana, to Richmond, Virginia. Within the state of Ohio, it is a predominantly southeast–northwest highway running from west of Willshire before crossing over into West Virginia via the Ravenswood Bridge over the Ohio River. The route runs through largely rural territory throughout most of the state's west-central, central, and southeastern regions, although it also passes through large portions of downtown Columbus.
