Loleatta is the debut studio album recorded by American singer Loleatta Holloway, released in 1973 on the Aware label.

Loleatta Holloway was an American singer, mainly known for disco songs such as "Hit and Run" and "Love Sensation", both of which have been sampled extensively. In December 2016, Billboard magazine ranked her as the 95th most successful dance artist of all-time.
The album features the singles "Mother of Shame", which peaked at #63 on the Hot Soul Singles chart, and "Our Love", which peaked at #43 on the Hot Soul Singles chart. Another single released, "Part Time Lover, Full Time Fool", failed to chart.

Andrew Alexander "Mike" Terry was an American saxophonist, songwriter, arranger, producer and musical director. His baritone sax solos feature on the breakthrough hits of Martha and the Vandellas, and The Supremes. As a member of the Funk Brothers he performed on thousands of Motown recordings from 1960-1967, including at least seven US #1 hits. As was Motown’s policy at the time, none of the studio musicians were credited by name. Terry was the musical arranger of the 1966 hit "Cool Jerk" by The Capitols, and later became a record producer, with partners including George Clinton, Sidney Barnes, and Jack Ashford.
James Flournoy Holmes is an artist whose work is featured on several notable album covers, including the first album from the Marshall Tucker Band, the Allman Brothers' Eat a Peach, Dr. John's In the Right Place, and Charlie Daniels' Fire on the Mountain. He is also credited with photography work for Carole King, The Outlaws and others. He and his brother, David Powell, founded the graphics studio Wonder Graphics. According to an interview with Dr. John, the triple gatefold artwork for the album was taken from the walls of the artist's home in New Orleans at the time.

Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch was an American hip-hop group led by Mark Wahlberg. The Funky Bunch consisted of Wahlberg, Scott Ross, Hector Barros, Terry Yancey and Anthony Thomas .The group's best known song is "Good Vibrations", which made it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1991, while their followup song "Wildside" peaked at number 10.
Black Box is an Italian house music group popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The members of the group included a trio made up of a club DJ, a classically trained clarinet teacher, and a keyboard and electronic music "wiz". The group created an image for the Black Box act using French fashion model Katrin Quinol on its album/singles' cover art and supposed lead singer in all of the group's music videos. However, their success quickly turned to infamy when it was revealed that Quinol was lip-syncing to the group's actual recorded vocalist Martha Wash, who sang the majority of the songs on the group's debut album Dreamland.
Daniel Earl Hartman was an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. Among songs he wrote and recorded were "Free Ride" with The Edgar Winter Group, and the solo hits "Instant Replay", "I Can Dream About You", "We Are the Young" and "Second Nature". "I Can Dream About You", his most successful song, reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984. The James Brown song "Living in America", which Hartman co-wrote and produced, was even more successful, reaching #4 in 1985. One of the most successful songs he co-wrote was "Ride on Time", recorded by Black Box, which reached #1 in several countries including the UK.
Fire Island is an English house music duo, made up of producers and remixers Pete Heller and Terry Farley. Both are prolific musicians who have an extensive list of remixes to their credit, using the Fire Island moniker and also being billed as Heller & Farley Project, Stylus Trouble or Farley & Heller.

The single was a chart success in many countries, topping the charts in Iceland, Ireland and the United Kingdom, where it stayed at the top of the UK Singles Chart for six weeks and was the highest-selling single of 1989.
