The director of national intelligence (DNI) is a senior cabinet-level United States government official,required by the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 to serve as executive head of the United States Intelligence Community (IC) and to direct and oversee the National Intelligence Program (NIP). All IC agencies report directly to the DNI.

He is also the past President of the Naval Academy Class of 1966 and has served on the advisory boards of several non-profit organizations. An avid amateur radio operator,Redd has won twelve world championships and nine national championships.

A statement released by the White House announced his resignation,effective July 8,2011. His successor,Matthew G. Olsen,was sworn in on August 16,2011. In September 2017,Leiter joined international law firm Skadden,Arps,Slate,Meagher &Flom in Washington,D.C. as a partner in its national security practice.
The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency's Mission Center forCounterterrorism is a division of the CIA's Directorate of Operations,established in 1986. It was renamed during an agency restructuring in 2015 and is distinct from the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC),which is a separate entity. Matthew Glen Olsen is an American attorney who has served as the Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division since 2021. He is the former director of the National Counterterrorism Center.
In the United States the Associate Director of National Intelligence and Chief Information Officer is charged with directing and managing activities relating to information technology for the Intelligence Community (IC) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). The IC CIO reports directly to the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). As of January 24,2022,Dr. Adele Merritt has assumed duties as the IC Chief Information Officer.
The National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) was a proposed federal anti-terror agency to be created in India,modelled on the National Counterterrorism Center of the US. The proposal arose after the 2008 Mumbai attacks a.k.a. 26/11 attacks where several intelligence and operational failures revealed the need for a federal agency with real time intelligence inputs of actionable value specifically to counter terrorist acts against India. The proposal has however met with much criticism from the Chief Ministers of various states who saw it as a means of weakening India's federalism,So finally the proposal was discarded saying already exists coordinating mechanisms in the system and government denied the need of NCTC.

Russell E. Travers is an American national security official who served as the deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC). Travers first took the role on November 13,2017,and later became acting director. He resumed his duties as deputy on December 28,2018,following Joseph Maguire's swearing in as NCTC director. Travers again became acting director on August 16,2019,after Maguire became Acting Director of National Intelligence. He was dismissed on March 18,2020.
Neil Wiley is an American intelligence official and military veteran who served as Principal Executive in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) performing the duties of Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence from May 13,2020 until February 2021.
Christopher Charles Miller is an American retired United States Army Special Forces colonel who served as acting United States secretary of Defense from November 9,2020,to January 20,2021. He previously served as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center from August 10 to November 9,2020. Before his civilian service in the Department of Defense,Miller was a Green Beret,commanding units of the 5th Special Forces Group in Afghanistan and Iraq,and later spent time as a defense contractor.
Brett Michael Holmgren is an American intelligence official who served as assistant secretary of state for intelligence and research in the Biden administration. He currently serves as the acting director for the National Counterterrorism Center.
