St. Albert is a city in Alberta, Canada, located on the Sturgeon River, northwest of the City of Edmonton, the provincial capital. It was originally settled as a Métis community, and is now the second-largest city in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region. St. Albert first received its town status in 1904 and was reached by the Canadian Northern Railway in 1906. Originally separated from Edmonton by several miles of farmland, the 1980s expansion of Edmonton's city limits placed St. Albert immediately adjacent to the larger city on St. Albert's southern and eastern sides.

The school currently has an enrollment of just under 1,300 students. Paul Kane's school colours are blue and white, with its sports teams being named the Blues. PKHS has sports programs including basketball, rugby, volleyball, and football.

Concordia High School, originally named Concordia College, and subsequently Concordia College High School until 1997, was created with the purpose of preparing young men to attend the Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Once ordained, they would return to the Canadian Prairies to open up new Lutheran churches. Concordia was established in 1921 with a first class of eighth grade boys. In the 1940s the school became co-ed and became an academic prep school. After World War II the high school continued as a grade nine to twelve program.
St. Albert Public Schools, formally St. Albert Public School District No. 5565, is a public school authority within the Canadian province of Alberta operated out of St. Albert. The board is a member of Zone 2/3. The district was formerly known as Protestant Separate School District No. 6. Approximately 8,000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools.
Joseph M. Demko School is a dual-track elementary-junior high school in the new Jensen lakes neighborhood in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. The school is a member of St. Albert Public Schools, its parent school district. The school is named after Joseph Demko, a former teacher and superintendent of the district.
