Los Bitchos is a pan-continental band based in London, England. The band consists of Western Australian-born Serra Petale (guitar), Uruguayan Agustina Ruiz (keytar, synthesisers), Swede Josefine Jonsson (bass guitar), and South London-born Nic Crawshaw (drums, percussion). They predominantly play instrumental music in the style of cumbia from the 1970s and 1980s.
Los Bitchos was formed in London in 2017. [1] [2] Describing the band's sound, guitarist Serra Petale said "I wanted to sound like Van Halen and Cocteau Twins – but from Turkey", with the band also crediting influences from Petale’s mother’s '70s Anatolian rock records, Ruiz’ Latin-American music collection, Madonna’s ‘La Isla Bonita’ period, "out of control pop" from Jonsson, and punk thanks to Crawshaw’s time drumming in various punk bands. The band went on to early releases with labels Blak Hand Records, Strong Island Recordings and Bad Vibrations. [4]
In 2019, Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos produced their sold-out debut 7" single ‘Pista (Great Start)’, described as sounding like "William Onyeabor discovering cumbia". [5]
The band’s debut KEXP session, filmed at Trans Musicales Festival, was released on March 7, 2020. During the COVID lockdowns that followed shortly afterwards, the video gained traction on YouTube, attracting worldwide attention and has amassed over 2 million views. [6] This was followed by a self-released sold-out seven-inch ‘The Link Is About To Die’ in 2020. [7]
In July 2021, Los Bitchos featured on the track ‘Erkilet Güzeli’ by Turkish band Altin Gun. [8]
They reunited with Alex Kapranos to record their debut album Let the Festivities Begin! which was released by City Slang in February 2022 alongside a European headline tour. Talking of the collaboration Jonsson said "We asked him to produce us again, and he brought out the best in us in a really encouraging way," with Petale adding "He used a lot of his vintage gear, including some cosmic synths that give our songs a bit of added sass". They released their debut studio album Let the Festivities Begin! in February 2022, with the songs "Good to Go!", "Las Panteras" and "Pista (Fresh Start)" released as singles beforehand. [9] [10] Following the release of their debut record, the band received critical acclaim from the likes of BBC 6 Music, KEXP, Rolling Stone Magazine, NME and various other media outlets.
The band made their TV debut to a huge crowd at the Park Stage at Glastonbury in June 2023 as part of the BBC’s coverage of the festival. [11] In June 2024 the band performed live on France’s ARTE TV show Ground Control. [12]
The band’s second album Talkie Talkie was released on August 30, 2024, again via City Slang Records. [13]
In 2021 Los Bitchos signed a publishing deal with Reservoir Media. [14]
Los Bitchos' debut show was supporting The Parrots, at Oslo Hackney on May 10, 2017.
Los Bitchos completed a European tour with Mac DeMarco in 2019 [15] and supported acts like Ty Segall and Kikagaku Moyo in London.
A number of high-profile festival sets raised the profile of the band across Europe and North America. The band played sets to huge crowds at Coachella, SXSW, Glastonbury, Rock En Seine, End of The Road, Levitation and Wide Awake Festival. A sold-out tour of the UK followed the album's release. [16]
In 2022, the band joined Belle & Sebastian on a US tour, [17] as well as joining King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on a European tour in 2023. [18]
They have also supported the likes of Pavement, Franz Ferdinand [19] and Parquet Courts. [20]

Faithless are an English dance music band that formed in 1995, with its core members being Rollo, Sister Bliss and Maxi Jazz. Their first album, Reverence, was released in 1996 and their most recent, All Blessed, in 2020. They have sold millions of physical records, and their catalogue was uploaded to streaming sites in 2018. They average almost 3 million listeners a month on Spotify. Faithless' records have charted at No. 1 in numerous countries and they were voted the 4th greatest dance band of all time by Mixmag.
Bloc Party are an English rock band that was formed in London in 1999 by co-founders Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack. Their first four albums all featured Gordon Moakes (bass) and Matt Tong (drums), who have since left the band. Their current lineup also contains Louise Bartle and Harry Deacon. Their brand of music, whilst rooted in rock, retains elements of other genres such as electronica and house music.
Calexico is an American indie rock band based in Tucson, Arizona. Founded in 1996, the band's two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. They have recorded a number of albums on Quarterstick Records and City Slang, and their 2005 EP, In the Reins, recorded with Iron & Wine, reached the Billboard 200 album charts. Their musical style is influenced by traditional Latin sounds of mariachi, conjunto, cumbia, and tejano mixed with country, jazz, and post-rock.
Alexander Paul Kapranos Huntley is a Scottish musician. He is best known as the lead singer and lead guitarist of Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand. He has also been a part of the supergroups FFS and BNQT.
Kasabian are an English rock band formed in Leicester in 1997 by lead vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and second vocalist Sergio Pizzorno, guitarist Chris Karloff and bassist Chris Edwards. Drummer Ian Matthews joined in 2004. Karloff left the band in 2006 and founded a new band called Black Onassis. Jay Mehler joined as touring lead guitarist in 2006, leaving for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013, to be replaced by Tim Carter, who later became a full-time band member in 2021. Meighan left the band in July 2020, with Pizzorno stepping up as full-time lead vocalist.
The Kumbia Kings are a Mexican-American cumbia group from Corpus Christi, Texas, created by A.B. Quintanilla. Their music encompasses the styles of cumbia, hip hop, and R&B. They produce songs in both Spanish and English. The producers for the band are Quintanilla— the brother of the late "Queen of Tejano", Selena— and Cruz Martínez. Quintanilla played bass guitar for the group, while Martínez, husband of international artist Alicia Villarreal, played keyboards. Both co-wrote songs for the Kumbia Kings.
Osees is an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1997, now based in Los Angeles, California. Originally the solo recording project of John Dwyer, the band has evolved through numerous line-up and name changes since its founding, with Dwyer serving as the band leader and primary songwriter throughout. Alongside Dwyer, the band's current line-up includes longtime members, Tim Hellman (bass), Dan Rincon (drums), Paul Quattrone (drums) and Tomas Dolas (keyboards).

Mumford & Sons are a British folk rock band formed in London in 2007. The band consists of Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane, and Ben Lovett. Banjoist Winston Marshall played on the band's first four albums before his departure in 2021.
Of Monsters and Men is an Icelandic indie folk/rock band formed in Garðabær in 2010. It consists of lead singer and guitarist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, singer and guitarist Ragnar "Raggi" Þórhallsson, lead guitarist Brynjar Leifsson, drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson, and bassist Kristján Páll Kristjánsson.

Royal Blood are an English rock duo formed in Littlehampton in 2011. The current lineup consists of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher (drums). Their signature sound is built around Kerr's bass playing style, which sees him using various effects pedals and amps to make his bass guitar sound like an electric guitar and bass guitar at the same time. The duo were signed by Warner Chappell Music in 2013 and have since released four studio albums: Royal Blood (2014), How Did We Get So Dark? (2017), Typhoons (2021), and Back to the Water Below (2023).
Systema Solar is a Colombian artistic collective of musicians, visual artists, and film producers, active as a band since 2006. It is known for its party-oriented sound, which is influenced by the sound system DJ culture of the Caribbean. Their music combines elements of Caribbean Colombian music, champeta, bullerengue, and cumbia, among other genres. The band released three full-length albums: Systema Solar (2010), La Revancha del Burro (2013), and Rumbo a Tierra (2017), and performed in several music festivals around Latin America, Europe, and the United States, such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Estéreo Picnic, Roskilde and Couleur Café.
Fontaines D.C. are an Irish post-punk band formed in Dublin in 2014. The band consists of Grian Chatten (vocals), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan III (bass), Tom Coll (drums) and Carlos O'Connell (guitar).
Black Midi are an English rock band from London, formed in 2017. Their most recent line-up consisted of lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Geordie Greep and Cameron Picton, along with drummer Morgan Simpson. Between 2017 and 2020, the band also included guitarist Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin. Following his departure, the trio were frequently joined by multi-instrumentalist Seth Evans and saxophonist Kaidi Akinnibi, both as session musicians and during live performances. Their name is derived from the Japanese electronic music genre black MIDI, though their own music has no relation to it, instead incorporating styles such as math rock, progressive rock, post-punk, and avant-jazz.
Nova Twins are an English rock duo formed in London, England, in 2014, consisting of vocalist/guitarist Amy Love and bassist Georgia South. Their debut album, Who Are the Girls?, was released in February 2020 and their most recent album, Supernova, was released in June 2022, which was shortlisted for the 2022 Mercury Prize and led to the band receiving two nominations at the BRIT Awards in 2023.
Altın Gün is a Dutch-Turkish psychedelic rock, also known as Anatolian rock, band from Amsterdam. It was founded by bassist Jasper Verhulst in 2016 when he posted an ad on Facebook looking for Turkish musicians. Their style has been described as "psychedelic" with a "dirty blend of funk rhythms, wah-wah guitars and analogue organs". Altın Gün also performs psychedelic rock covers of Turkish folk music. The band's vocalist Erdinç Ecevit Yıldız, is of Turkish origin, while the other four members are Dutch.
Got Back is an ongoing concert tour by English musician Paul McCartney. The tour started on 28 April 2022 at the Spokane Arena in Spokane, United States, and is set to end on 19 December 2024 at the O2 Arena in London, England. The tour is McCartney's first following the COVID-19 pandemic that resulted in the cancellation of a planned European leg of his Freshen Up tour in 2020, which included a planned performance at Glastonbury Festival. McCartney performed at Glastonbury on 25 June 2022, as a conclusion to the first leg of the Got Back tour.
The Los Angeles League of Musicians, often abbreviated as LA LOM, is an American instrumental band originating from Los Angeles, California. The band consists of guitarist Zac Sokolow, bassist Jake Faulkner, and percussionist Nicholas Baker. The trio began playing together at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where they experimented with a mix of distinct genres, including surf guitar, cumbia, and Peruvian chicha. The band has been noted for its fusion of multiple different styles.
