An hors d'oeuvre,appetiser or starter is a small dish served before a meal in European cuisine. Some hors d'oeuvres are served cold,others hot. Hors d'oeuvres may be served at the dinner table as a part of the meal,or they may be served before seating,such as at a reception or cocktail party. Formerly,hors d'oeuvres were also served between courses. There are two types of hors d'oeuvre from service point of view:
- General hors d'oeuvre
- Classical hors d'oeuvre

He was the U.S. Ambassador to Russia between 1916 and 1917,during the Russian Revolution of 1917. He was a Wilsonian Democrat.
The United States District Court for the Central District of California is a federal trial court that serves over 19 million people in Southern and Central California,making it the most populous federal judicial district. The district was created on September 18,1966. Cases from the Central District are appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Along with the Central District of Illinois,the court is the only district court referred to by the name "Central" –all other courts with similar geographical names instead use the term "Middle."

He was the eighth Archbishop of Philadelphia,having previously served as Archbishop of St. Louis from 1994 to 2003,and was elevated to the cardinalate in 2003. Following a sex abuse probe into the Catholic Church,Cardinal Rigali resigned in 2011.
Covenant Theological Seminary,informally called Covenant Seminary,is the denominational seminary of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Located in Creve Coeur,Missouri,it trains people to work as leaders in church positions and elsewhere,especially as pastors,missionaries,and counselors. It does not require all students to be members of the PCA,but it is bound to promote the teachings of its denomination. Francis Olympic Field is a stadium at Washington University in St. Louis that was used as the main venue for the 1904 Summer Olympics. It is currently used by the university's track and field,cross country,football,and soccer teams. It is located in St. Louis County,Missouri on the far western edge of the university's Danforth Campus. Built in time for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition,the stadium once had a 19,000-person seating capacity,but stadium renovations in 1984 reduced the capacity to 3,300 people. It is one of the oldest sports venues west of the Mississippi River that is still in use. Francis Olympic Field now uses artificial turf that can be configured for both soccer and football.
