Louis Peter Visentin is a Canadian scientist and former President and Vice-Chancellor of Brandon University. Visentin held this position from May 2000 until his retirement in 2009. [1] [2]
Visentin received his doctorate in molecular biology from the University of Michigan in 1969. [1] Prior to assuming the role of President at Brandon University, he served as Vice President (Academic) with the University of New Brunswick. He is a former member of the National Research Council Governing Council and the Premier of Manitoba's Economic Advisory Council [1] Image Strategy Development Task Group. Visentin was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for service to Canada in 2002 and the Venerable Order of Saint John in 2003.
Richard Andrew Gephardt is an American politician who served as a United States Representative from Missouri from 1977 to 2005. A member of the Democratic Party, he was House Majority Leader from 1989 to 1995 and Minority Leader from 1995 to 2003. He ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in 1988 and 2004. Gephardt was mentioned as a possible vice presidential nominee in 1988, 1992, 2000, 2004, and 2008.
Thomas Clement Douglas was a Canadian politician who served as Premier of Saskatchewan from 1944 to 1961 and Leader of the New Democratic Party from 1961 to 1971. A Baptist minister, he was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in 1935 as a member of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF). He left federal politics to become Leader of the Saskatchewan Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and then the seventh Premier of Saskatchewan. Brandon University is a university located in the city of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, with an enrollment of 3662 (2018) full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students. The current location was founded on July 13, 1899, as Brandon College as a Baptist institution. It was chartered as a university by then President John E. Robbins on June 5, 1967. The enabling legislation is the Brandon University Act. Brandon University is one of several predominantly undergraduate liberal arts and sciences institutions in Canada.

Norman William MacLeod is a retired Canadian business executive. He has long been active in the Liberal Party of Canada, and served as its president from 1980 until 1982. Born in Brandon, Manitoba, he graduated from the University of Manitoba. MacLeod moved to Vancouver where he was politically active and later moved to Toronto to pursue his career. In the business world MacLeod served as a vice-President of Household Finance.

Henning, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Professor of Political Studies at the University of Manitoba Richard Sigurdson, and President and Vice-Chancellor at Brandon University Louis Visentin released the population counts of the 1998 electoral boundaries based on Census 2006 population counts provided by Statistics Canada. The Pas was the only riding not to have its boundaries be changed. The Electoral Divisions Boundaries Commission released its report after months of public consultation and deliberation.
Simonetta Myriam Sommaruga is a Swiss politician serving as President of the Swiss Confederation since 2020. A member of the Social Democratic Party, she has been a Member of the Federal Council since 2010. Sommaruga has served as head of the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications since 2019 and previously was head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police. She served as Vice President of the Federal Council for the year 2014; in 2015 Sommaruga assumed the role of President of the Swiss Confederation. Subsequently, she returned to the council's presidency in 2020.
Louis Abraham Lerner was an American businessman, publisher, political activist and ambassador. He received a B.A. in 1960 from Roosevelt University. In 1956-57, he studied Scandinavian affairs in Denmark. Lerner's father was publisher Leo Lerner.
