Extreme is an American rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1985, that reached the height of their popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with original lineup Gary Cherone, Nuno Bettencourt, Paul Geary, and Pat Badger. With the exclusion of Geary, the lineup has remained unchanged. Their current drummer is Kevin Figueiredo.

Waiting for the Punchline is the fourth album by American band Extreme, released in 1995. It is known by fans as a distinctively raw-sounding record—especially when compared to the big production of the two previous albums—with a significant influence from grunge. Due to its lyrics focused heavily on social matters it is often cited as a concept album. It is also the only Extreme record to feature drummer Mike Mangini. After the album's tour, the band subsequently disbanded in 1996 when Bettencourt informed Extreme that he was leaving the band to pursue a solo career. After the breakup, singer Gary Cherone also joined Van Halen in the same year as their new singer, but left three years later.
Satellite Party was an alternative rock band formed by Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell following the break-up of Jane's Addiction in 2004. Other members included Carl Restivo (bass) and Farrell's wife, Etty Lau Farrell. The band was initially formed as a collaboration between Farrell and Extreme member Nuno Bettencourt. Bettencourt departed from the project in July 2007.

Sessions From Room 4 is an EP released by the band Population 1, led by Extreme/DramaGods guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. The EP is the first official release from the band Population 1, which was previously just a solo project by Nuno Bettencourt. They had to change the name of the band, not once, but twice due to legal reasons. They were briefly known as Near Death Experience and subsequently DramaGods, under which they released their next and only album to date, "Love". "Sessions From Room 4" was released through the band's official website, and came with stickers and a limited edition autographed poster of the band.

Etty Lau Farrell is an Asian American vocalist, dancer and actress. She began working in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, appearing in numerous music videos as well as nationally televised award shows. Etty was part of the original Pussycat Dolls, when the group, as a dance troupe, had a monthly residency at the Viper Room. In 1997, she toured with Jane’s Addiction on their "It’s my party tour", later dubbed the "Relapse Tour" where she met her future husband Perry Farrell. Etty's first major venture as a musician came in 2005 when she and Perry Farrell formed Satellite Party. Their debut album went in at #24 on the Billboard album chart. In 2008, Etty's vocals featured on the Twilight soundtrack. In 2010, she was one of the stars of Married to Rock, a TV series on the E! Network.
Mourning Widows was a musical project led by former Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. The band was formed in 1997, and they released two albums during their career. Despite not being widely released in the United States, both albums were successful in Japan. Bettencourt formed the band after the moderate success of his 1996 solo album, Schizophonic. The band's sound went back to a funkier guitar-driven rock reminiscent of Extreme, while still having post-grunge and alternative influences. After the end of the Furnished Souls For Rent tour, in 2001, Nuno decided to dismiss the band and released a record as Population 1, mostly recorded by himself. That became the name of his new band too, which would later become DramaGods.
