Singapore has a diverse music culture that ranges from rock and pop to folk and classical. Its various communities have their own distinct musical traditions: the Chinese form the largest ethnic group in Singapore, with Malays, Indians as well as a smaller number of other peoples of different ethnicities including Eurasians. The different people with their traditional forms of music, the various modern musical styles, and the fusion of different forms account for the musical diversity in the country.
The National Day Parade (NDP) is an annual parade held in Singapore to commemorate its independence. Held annually on 9 August, it is the main public celebration of National Day, and consists of a parade incorporating contingents of the Singapore Armed Forces, Ministry of Home Affairs, local institutions and community groups, followed by a cultural presentation featuring music, dance displays, parachuters, and a fireworks show.
Olivia Ong is a Singaporean singer and actress. Most of her works are in English, but she has recorded songs in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese and Japanese. In her early career, she focused on singing jazz. Now she has moved on to Mandarin pop.
Kelvin Tan Wei Lian is a Singaporean former Mandopop singer who earned a living as a busker before he won the first edition of Project SuperStar in 2005. He has released three albums, All I Want Is... (2006), i-Weilian (2007) and Moving Notes...Kelvin Tan (2009). He also had a solo concert at the Singapore Expo, lead a choir at the opening ceremony at the 2008 Summer Paralympics and singing Singapore's 2009 National Day Parade's theme song.
Richard Lee Peng Boon, professionally known as Dick Lee, is a Singaporean singer-songwriter, playwright and film director. Lee was awarded the Cultural Medallion, Singapore's pinnacle arts award, for music in 2005.
Home (家), sung by Kit Chan, was composed by Dick Lee in 1998 as the first in a series of yearly songs commissioned for Singapore's National Day Parade, together with the other NDP song that year titled as City For The World. It has English and Chinese versions, both sung by Kit.
"Majulah Singapura" is the national anthem of the Republic of Singapore. Composed by Zubir Said in 1958 as a theme song for official functions of the City Council of Singapore, the song was selected in 1959 as the nation's anthem when it attained self-government. Upon full independence in 1965, "Majulah Singapura" was formally adopted as Singapore's national anthem. By law, the anthem must be sung with Malay lyrics, but there are authorised translations of the lyrics of the anthem in Singapore's three other official languages: English, Mandarin and Tamil.

Song for Singapore is a song composed and sung by Singaporean (American-based) singer, Corrinne May. It was officially commissioned as the official theme for the 2010 National Day Parade. The single is the first NDP theme song to be available for free digital download. The song was performed twice during the National Day Parade. Once as a dance version by Sezairi Sezali and Sylvia Ratonel as the Prime Minister of Singapore took his seat during the parade. And later in the performance sequence of the parade in its original tune, sung by Corrinne herself. This song was also performed during the NDP 2015.
"There's No Place I'd Rather Be" is a song sung by Singaporean artiste, Kit Chan. Along with Will you, it serves as the official theme to the National Day Parade in 2007. The single is one of the few National Day Parade themes that doesn't mention Singapore's name. The song was originally written for Singapore Polytechnic's, "Musical Superstar: The Pop Musical". It was later sung by Project SuperStar finalist, Kelly Poon before being commissioned as an official National Day Parade theme in 2007.

She recently signed on a multi-rights deal with Universal Music Singapore, becoming the first Singapore female artist to do so, and Canadian music label Nettwerk Music Group. She has collaborated with Felix Jaehn and KRONO, and has received special praise from Troye Sivan for her vocals. Linying also collaborated with Sezairi, Shye and Shabir on the National Day Parade 2021 Theme Song, "The Road Ahead", selected for the song's significance in the adversities caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on Singapore.
Iskandar Mirza Ismail was a prominent Singaporean musician who worked as a composer, arranger, conductor, music director, recording producer, performer and educator in his long career. In recognition of his extensive contributions to the music scene of Singapore, he was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 2008.
Paul Tan Kim Liang is a Singaporean poet and current deputy chief executive of the National Arts Council (NAC) of Singapore.
