Lubjana Piovesana (born 3 January 1997) is a British and Austrian judoka. [4] [5]

Contents

Judo career

Piovesana is the 2018 U23 European Champion. She is a bronze medalist from the 2019 Judo Grand Prix Marrakesh in the 63 kg category. [6] In addition she is the youngest medalist from Great Britain on the IJF World Tour.[ citation needed ]

She collected 1811 points in the IJF Olympic Ranking and did not qualify for the Summer Games in Tokyo with 35th place in her weight class. [7]

Since January 2023 Piovesana is part of the Austria National Team. [1]

2024 Summer Olympics

Lubjana Piovesana took part in the 2024 Olympic Games in both the weight class -63 kg and in the mixed team (together with Katharina Tanzer, Michaela Polleres, Samuel Gaßner, Wachid Borchashvili and Aaron Fara). [8] She reached the final block in her weight class and fought her way into a duel for bronze. There she lost to the Frenchwoman Clarisse Agbegnenou with an ippon score by throw [9] and took fifth place. [10] The first encounter in the mixed team competition against Germany ended 4:1 and the Austrian team took ninth place. [11]

Club championships

Piovesana fought for TSG Backnang in the German Judo Bundesliga in 2019, [12] 2023 [13] und 2024. [14]

In 2022 Piovesana fought in the Austrian Damen-Bundesliga for the team UJZ Mühlviertel. Piovesana had four matches and won three of them. She only lost against Michaela Polleres. [15]

She is in a relationship with Laurin Boehler. [1]

As of March 2018 he was ranked #9 in the world in the U73 kg division. He was a member of the Israeli team that won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Butbul represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in judo in the men's 73 kg event in which he came in ninth, and in the mixed team event, in which Team Israel came in ninth.

Timna Nelson-Levy is an Israeli Olympic judoka. She competes in the under 57 kg weight category and represented Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the mixed team event. In European Championships, she won a gold medal in 2022 and bronze in 2016 and 2024. Nelson-Levy represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in judo in the women's 57 kg, coming in ninth, and in the mixed team event, at when Team Israel came in ninth.

Gefen Primo is an Israeli judoka. She competes in the under 52 kg weight category. In 2017 she was the European Youth Olympic Champion. She won bronze medals in the 2018 European Judo Championships, 2021 World Judo Championships, 2021 European Judo Championships, and 2022 World Judo Championships. Primo represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in judo in the women's 52 kg, in which she came in seventh, and in the mixed team event, in which Team Israel came in ninth.

Uta Abe is a Japanese judoka who competes in the Women's half-lightweight division. She won the gold medal in the Women's 52 kg competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics and two silver medals in a row with the Japanese team in the judo mixed team events at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. Abe is also a four-time world champion, having won the gold medal in her weight category at the World Judo Championships in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

Michaela Polleres is an Austrian judoka. In 2021, she won the silver medal in the women's 70 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She won bronze at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Polleres is also a bronze medalist at the 2021 and 2023 World Championships and the 2018 European Championships. She is a third degree black belt.

Inbar Lanir is an Israeli Olympic silver medalist judoka and 2023 world champion. She competes in the under 78 kg weight category. She also won a mixed-team bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games. In addition to winning the 2023 world championship, she won gold medals at the 2023 World Masters and the 2023 Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam.
