The World Judo Juniors Championships are the highest level of international judo competition for juniors, 21 years of age or less. The championships are held once every year (except the years when the Olympics take place) by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. The World Juniors Championships are the only junior event awarding ranking points for the seniors world ranking list. [1] The last edition of the championships took place in Odivelas, Portugal in 2023. [2]

Point Contribution to Senior World Ranking List

Since 2019, World Juniors Championships contribute ranking points equal to an IJF Grand Prix for the Senior World Ranking List as well as Junior WRL points. [84] The points also count towards Olympic Games qualification. [85]

He competes in the under 66 kg weight category, and won bronze medals in the 2017 World Judo Championships and the 2018 European Judo Championships as well as a silver medal in the 2020 European Judo Championships. Flicker won the 2017 Baku Grand Slam, 2017 Cancún Grand Prix and Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. In August 2017 he was ranked # 1 in the world in the U66 kg division.

Tohar Butbul is an Israeli judoka. He competes in the under 73 kg weight category, where he won silver medals at the 2019 Judo World Masters and the 2021 European Championships, and won bronze medals in the 2017 Paris Grand Slam and 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. As of March 2018 he was ranked #9 in the world in the U73 kg division. Butbul was a member of the Israeli team that won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Gefen Primo is an Israeli judoka. She competes in the under 52 kg weight category, and won bronze medals in the 2021 World Judo Championships, 2018 European Judo Championships and 2021 European Judo Championships.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Peter Paltchik</span> Israeli judoka (1992-)

Peter Paltchik is a Ukrainian-born Israeli judoka, competing in the under 100 kg weight category, of which he is the current number 1 ranked Judoka in the world. In September 2019 he won the Israeli championship in the 100+ Kg category. Paltchik won the gold medal at the 2020 European Judo Championships in Prague on November 21, 2020, beating Russian judoka Arman Adamian in the final, Adding to his bronze medal from the 2018 European Judo Championships in Tel Aviv. Paltchik also won a bronze medal in the mixed team judo competition in the 2021 Olympics.

Inbar Lanir is an Israeli Olympic judoka and 2023 world champion. She competes in the under 78 kg weight category, and won gold medals at the 2023 World Masters and 2023 Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam.

The 2018 World Judo Juniors Championships was held between 17 and 21 September 2018 at the Imperial Ballroom in Nassau, The Bahamas. The final day of competition featured a mixed team event, won by team Japan.

The 2014 World Judo Juniors Championships was held between 22 and 26 October 2014 in Fort Lauderdale, United States. The final day of competition featured men's and women's team events, both won by team Japan.

The European Junior Judo Championships are annual judo competitions organized by the European Judo Union for European judoka aged 21 and younger.

The European Cadet Judo Championships are annual judo competitions organized by the European Judo Union for European judoka aged 18 and younger.

The World Judo Cadets Championships are the highest level of international judo competition for juniors, 18 years of age or less. The championships are held every second year by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their countries. The last edition of the championships took place in Zagreb, Croatia in 2023.

The 2021 European Junior Judo Championships was an edition of the European U21 Judo Championships, organised by the European Judo Union. It was held in d'Coque in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg from 9–12 September 2021. The final day of competition featured a mixed team event, won by team France.

The 2021 World Judo Juniors Championships was held between 6 and 10 October 2021 in Olbia, Italy. On its last day, the contest featured the 2021 World Juniors Mixed Team Championships.

The 2022 World Judo Championships was held at the Humo Ice Dome in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 6 to 13 October 2022 as part of the IJF World Tour and during the 2024 Summer Olympics qualification period, concluding with the mixed team event on its final day.
