Shokichi Natsui was a Japanese judoka from the Akita Prefecture. He became the first world champion in judo, winning the title at the 1956 World Judo Championships in Tokyo, by beating Yoshihiko Yoshimatsu in the final. As there were no weight classes in the world championships until 1965, Natsui was the only champion in 1956.

The European Judo Championships is the Judo European Championship organized by the European Judo Union. The 2015 and 2019 editions were held during the respective European Games. This is also expected for future editions of the European Games.

Tato Grigalashvili is a Georgian judoka. He won the silver medal in the men's 81 kg at the 2021 World Judo Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. He is also a two-time gold medalist in his event at the European Judo Championships.

The World Judo Juniors Championships are the highest level of international judo competition for juniors, 21 years of age or less. The championships are held once every year by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. The World Junior Championships are the only junior event awarding ranking points for the seniors world ranking list. The last edition of the championships took place in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 2022.

The World Judo Cadets Championships are the highest level of international judo competition for juniors, 18 years of age or less. The championships are held every second year by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their countries. The last edition of the championships took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2022.

It was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from 23 to 27 October 2015. The final day of competition featured men's and women's team events, both won by team Japan.
