Luce Baillargeon (born 24 July 1977 in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec) is a Canadian former judoka who competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics. [1]

Alfred Harold Douglas Rogers was a Canadian Olympic competitor in judo, and the first Canadian to win an Olympic medal in the sport. He was an honoured member in the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame. His best results were a silver medal in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and gold medals at two Pan American Games, in 1965 and 1967. He was a student of Masahiko Kimura.

Mark Berger is a Canadian judoka. A winner of the gold medal in the Men's Heavyweight Judo event at the 1983 Pan American Games and the bronze medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics, he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 1994. He was born in Ukraine and became a Canadian citizen in the late 1970s. He won gold medals in the heavyweight division in the 1981 Maccabiah Games and the 1985 Maccabiah Games in Israel.
The Japanese martial art and combat sport judo has been practised in Canada for over a century. The first long-term judo dojo in Canada, Tai Iku Dojo, was established by a Japanese immigrant named Shigetaka "Steve" Sasaki in Vancouver in 1924. Sasaki and his students opened several branch schools in British Columbia and even trained RCMP officers until 1942, when Japanese Canadians were expelled from the Pacific coast and either interned or forced to move elsewhere in Canada due to fears that they were a threat to the country after Japan entered the Second World War. When the war was over, the government gave interned Japanese Canadians two options: resettle in Canada outside of the 'Japanese exclusion zone' or emigrate to Japan.
Alexandre Émond is a Canadian judoka. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 90 kg event and was eliminated in the first round by the British judoka Winston Gordon. Émond has enjoyed success at the Pan American Judo Championships winning two gold, one silver and two bronze medals between 2008 and 2012. He also won the bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games.
Marylise Lévesque is a Canadian judoka. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 78kg category and lost to Pürevjargalyn Lkhamdegd in the repechage. Lévesque won the bronze at the 2007 Pan American Games.
Tina Takahashi is a judoka, coach, and author who won Canada's first ever gold medal in international Judo at the World University Games in 1984, and was Canada's first women's Olympic Judo coach in 1988, coaching Canada's first women's Judo Olympian Sandra Greaves. She was the first Canadian woman to achieve the rank of roku-dan, and the first women's Sport Canada carded athlete. Takahashi was Canadian champion 9 times, has taught Judo for more than 30 years, and was inducted into the Judo Canada Hall of Fame in 1998. Also in 2016, she was inducted into the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame. In 2008, she was named as Chair of the National Grading Board by Judo Canada. Takahashi is the daughter of Canadian judoka Masao Takahashi and June Takahashi, and the sister of Olympians Phil Takahashi and Ray Takahashi.
Istvan Szasz is a Hungarian judoka, currently living in Sydney, Australia. He was an eight-time Senior Hungarian National Championship medalist and five-time Junior Hungarian National Championship winner, a member of the Hungarian National team from 1990 to 2003 and a member of the Hungarian Olympic team from 1994 to 1999. Szasz competed internationally as a professional judoka from 1991 to 2003.
Danielle Zangrando is a retired Brazilian judoka who competed in the women's lightweight category. She picked up a total of thirty medals in her career, including three from the Pan American Games, and a bronze from the 1995 World Judo Championships in Chiba, Japan, and also appeared in the 57-kg class in two editions of the Olympic Games. Growing up in Santos, Zangrando took up judo at the age of 5 following her brother to the dojo of sensei Paulo Duarte. Throughout most of her sporting career, Zangrando trained under Duarte as a full-fledged member of the judo squad for Santos FC Judô.
Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard is a Canadian judoka who competes in the women's 63 kg category. Beauchemin-Pinard won a bronze medal in the 63 kg weight class at the 2020 Summer Olympics, making her the second Canadian woman to win a medal in judo at the Summer Olympics. She has been ranked in the top 10 of the world in her weight category.
