The 2013 World Judo Juniors Championships was an edition of the World Judo Juniors Championships, organised by the International Judo Federation. It was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 24 to 27 October 2013. [1] [2] [3] The final day of competition featured men's and women's team events. The men's event was won by team Georgia and the Women's by team Japan. [4]

The World Judo Championships are the highest level of international judo competition, along with the Olympic judo competition. The championships are held once every year by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. Baruch Shmailov is an Israeli judoka. He competes in the under 66 kg weight category, and won a gold medal in the 2022 World Masters in Jerusalem. Shmailov also won a bronze in the 2017 World Masters, as well as a silver at the 2018 World Masters. As of December 2022, Shmailov is ranked #3 in -66 kg weight category. He competed for Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics, finishing in fifth place.

Gefen Primo is an Israeli judoka. She competes in the under 52 kg weight category, and won bronze medals in the 2021 World Judo Championships, 2018 European Judo Championships and 2021 European Judo Championships.

Peter Paltchik is a Ukrainian-born Israeli judoka, competing in the under 100 kg weight category, of which he is the current number 1 ranked Judoka in the world. In September 2019 he won the Israeli championship in the 100+ Kg category. Paltchik won the gold medal at the 2020 European Judo Championships in Prague on November 21, 2020, beating Russian judoka Arman Adamian in the final, Adding to his bronze medal from the 2018 European Judo Championships in Tel Aviv. Paltchik also won a bronze medal in the mixed team judo competition in the 2021 Olympics.

Sanne Vermeer is a Dutch judoka. She is a bronze medalist in the women's 63 kg event at the 2021 World Judo Championships and the 2021 European Judo Championships. In 2019, she also won one of the bronze medals in her event at the European Games held in Minsk, Belarus.
