The African Cadet Judo Championships are the highest level of African judo competition for cadets, 18 years of age or less. The championships are held every year by the African Judo Union, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their countries. The first edition was helds in Gaborone, Botswana on 2012.

The African Judo Union (AJU) is the governing body of judo in Africa. It is one of the five continental confederations making up the International Judo Federation (IJF). AJU was formed on 28 November 1961 in Dakar (Senegal). AJU has headquarters in Madagascar and consists of 54 member federations.

Kody Andrews is a New Zealand judoka, who won the silver medal in the over-100 kg category representing his country at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Boubekeur Rebahi is an Algerian, male Judo player, who played in both local and international championships. He played in Tunisia, Oran, Morocco and Belgium. He weighs 66 kg. It should be remembered that Algeria was tagged the most successful nation for African Judo Championships in 2022. Prior to that in 2021, Algerian Judo player named Fethi Nourine was banned for 10 years from competition by the International Judo Federation with his coach, Amar Benikhlef receiving 10 years ban, as well when they withdrew from facing an Israeli opponent in the second round of men's competition at the Boudakan. The duo revealed that they pulled out from the competition in support for the Palestinians.
