Lucian Maxinianu (born 29 October 1972) is a Romanian weightlifter. He competed in the men's featherweight event at the 1996 Summer Olympics. [1]

Saint Lucia sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The 2008 Saint Lucian team included four athletes that competed in two sports: swimming and athletics. Of these four athletes, Danielle Beaubrun, at age 18, was the youngest of the competitors. Dominic Johnson, at age 32, was the oldest, and was the only man sent as part of the 2008 delegation; additionally, Johnson was the only Saint Lucian athlete in the 2008 delegation who had previously participated in the Olympics.

He is best known for running barefooted and winning a 5000 metres and the 10,000 metres double at the 1970 Asian Games held in Bangkok, Thailand. His performance in 10,000 metres was also an Asian Games record.

Lucian "Mihail" Popescu was a Romanian ice hockey player. He played for CSA Steaua București between 1976 and 1991. Internationally Popescu played for the Romanian national team at five World Championships, and at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. He later coached the Romanian under-18 team. He died on 31 January 2021 in Bucharest at the age of 60.
