Lucky Joseph Vanous (born April 11, 1961) is an American model and actor. He became nationally known in 1994 after appearing in a series of commercials for Diet Coke. [1] [2]
Vanous was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and served in the United States Army 1st Ranger Battalion. Upon discharge, he studied at University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He was discovered while visiting Manhattan, and he moved there to model and continue his studies at New York University and Fordham University. [3] He married Kristen Noel in 1989, and they were divorced in 1996.
Notable acting roles include playing Matt Dunning for a season on Pacific Palisades and playing Chance Bowman on 18 Wheels of Justice .

Thomas William Osborne is an American former football player, coach, college athletics administrator, and politician from Nebraska. He served as head football coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1973 to 1997. After being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999, Osborne was elected to Congress in 2000 from Nebraska's third district as a Republican. He served three terms (2001–2007), returned to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as athletic director in 2007, and retired in 2013.

The series was developed by Richard C. Okie, who had previously been an executive producer on the similar show Renegade. 18 Wheels of Justice was filmed at Stu Segall Productions in San Diego, and distributed by King World Productions.

The Diet Coke Break advertising campaign is a series of six television advertisements that ran from 1994 to 2013, used to promote the soft drink Diet Coke. Each advert centers around a group of women ogling an attractive man while he works, soundtracked to a version of "I Just Want to Make Love to You". The first commercial premiered on US television in 1994, and starred American actor Lucky Vanous as a handsome construction worker who removes his shirt while taking his "Diet Coke break". The advert was a huge success, catching The Coca-Cola Company by surprise. Although initially no sequel was planned, Vanous was recast in a follow-up advert, released the next year.
