Lucy Troisi ( listen ) is a Canadian politician, who was appointed to Toronto City Council. [1] She represented former Ward 28 in the City of Toronto, which had been vacant since the death of Pam McConnell in July 2017,during the period November 2017 to November 2018. [1]

She won the appointment on the second ballot,in a council vote that split along ideological lines between conservative (primarily suburban) councillors who favoured Troisi, and progressive (primarily 'downtown') councillors who favoured activist and McConnell staffer Michael Creek. [1]
When appointed,Troisi said she would not run in the 2018 Toronto municipal election. She later changed her mind and ran in Toronto Centre Ward 13 against Kristyn Wong-Tam,another incumbent as a result of the decision by the provincial government to reduce the number of wards. Troisi placed third behind Wong-Tam and former MPP George Smitherman. [5]
