Luis Gutierrez is an American artist based in Los Gatos, California, USA.
Luis Gutierrez was born in Pittsburg, California to a Mexican-American family, in 1933. He received an A.A. degree from Diablo Valley College in 1954; a B.A. degree from San Jose State University in 1957; and an M.F.A. degree from the Instituto San Miguel Allende in 1958. He has taught at Pittsburg High School and San Jose City College.
Graduating from high school and having won a Bank of America merit award in art, Gutierrez enrolled at Diablo Valley College in 1952 and was mentored by an art teacher, who steered him towards obtaining a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University. Supported by the patronage of further art professionals, Gutierrez finished his graduate studies at the Instituto Allende in Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende, an outpost of Berkeley art instructors, GI Bill students, and international modernism. There, Gutierrez continued working through the influence of Picasso and Matisse. Returning to San Jose, he took a teaching job at San Jose City College, where he inspired students with unorthodox assignments, such as making a piece based on a shameful secret, or drawing with the left hand, so as to circumvent the censorious left brain and its obedient right hand. Gutierrez assimilated aspects of Abstract Expressionism, the Bay Area Figuration, Beat, Funk, and Pop into his practice. Gutierrez retired in 1995.

Julian Stanczak was a Polish-born American painter and printmaker. The artist lived and worked in Seven Hills, Ohio with his wife, the sculptor Barbara Stanczak.
San Miguel de Allende is the principal city in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende, located in the far eastern part of Guanajuato, Mexico. A part of the Bajío region, the city lies 274 km (170 mi) from Mexico City, 86 km (53 mi) from Querétaro, and 97 km (60 mi) from the state capital of Guanajuato. The city's name derives from two persons: 16th-century friar Juan de San Miguel, and a martyr of Mexican Independence, Ignacio Allende, who was born in a house facing the city's central plaza. San Miguel de Allende was also a critical epicenter during the historic Chichimeca War (1540–1590) where the Chichimeca Confederation defeated the Spanish Empire in the initial colonization war. Today, an old section of the town is part of a proclaimed World Heritage Site, attracting thousands of tourists and new residents from abroad every year.
Manuel John Neri Jr. was an American sculptor who is recognized for his life-size figurative sculptures in plaster, bronze, and marble. In Neri's work with the figure, he conveys an emotional inner state that is revealed through body language and gesture. Since 1965 his studio was in Benicia, California; in 1981 he purchased a studio in Carrara, Italy, for working in marble. Over four decades, beginning in the early 1970s, Neri worked primarily with the same model, Mary Julia Klimenko, creating drawings and sculptures that merge contemporary concerns with Modernist sculptural forms.
Joe Goode is an American artist. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1937. In 1959 he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he attended the Chouinard Art Institute until 1961.

Silvia Poloto is an artist born in São Paulo, Brazil who immigrated to San Francisco, California, in 1992. She earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from University of São Paulo. She earned her M.B.A. at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo. From 1996 to 1999, she worked as an instructor's assistant in the Sculpture Department, City College of San Francisco. During that period, she also worked as a welder at 3D Studios in Oakland and art instructor in mixed media at the Associated Students of the University of California Art Studio at the University of California, Berkeley.
She works in a variety of media, including photography, sculpture, and painting, and she also creates video art. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and abroad, including the United Arab Emirates, France, Spain, Italy, Singapore, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and China, among others. In the San Francisco Bay Area, her work has been featured in exhibitions at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the SFMOMA Artist's Gallery, the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, the Italian American Museum, and the M. H. de Young Memorial Museum, where she was an artist-in-residence in 2001. Poloto's work has been acquired by more than 50 institutional and corporate collections around the US and by more than 800 private collectors around the world.

Jacinto Quirarte was an art historian, professor, scholar and writer who was instrumental in documenting and promoting Latino and Chicano art in the United States. Quirarte was an "expert in pre-Columbian and Latin American art history." He was one of the first to insist that pre-Columbian art and Latino art become part of the mainstream American art history narrative. He wrote many papers, monographs and several books on the subject of both ancient and modern art in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America. He is one of the founding deans of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Quirarte was also one of the first Mexican-American scholars to work at the university level.
Lilly Marie Rodriguez, known by her artist name Isis Rodríguez, is an American contemporary painter who uses the cartoon as a conceptual tool to discuss issues that focuses on the empowerment and liberation of women. Combining classical realism with contemporary influences including tattoo art, graffiti, and especially cartoons, her works bridge traditional distinctions between high and low art, creating a hybrid style that expresses new possibilities for female identity and spirituality. Judy Chicago and Edward Lucie Smith highlight Rodriguez as one of the few female artists to ever discuss the sex industry in her work, and Sherri Cullison includes Rodriguez among the most noteworthy American women artists of the 20th century.

Consuelo Jiménez Underwood is an American fiber artist, known for her pieces that focus on immigration issues. She is an indigenous Chicana currently based in Cupertino, California. As an artist she works with textiles in attempt to unify her American roots with her Mexican Indigenous ones, along with trying to convey the same for other multicultural people.
Ruth Tunstall Grant (1945–2017) was an African American artist, educator and activist in the San Francisco Bay Area known for her paintings, community activism, and arts advocacy. Her work has been featured in many invitational group exhibitions as well as solo shows at national and international venues such as Dallas Museum of Fine Art, Dallas, Texas; Rath Museum, Geneva, Switzerland; Triton Museum of Art, Santa Clara, California; San Jose Museum of Art, San Jose, California; and Los Gatos Museum of Art, Los Gatos, California. She had a strong focus on community service and advocacy of children’s rights and social justice in and beyond Santa Clara County. She established many innovative, ongoing arts programs and inspired creative activists, such as Marita Dingus.
