Juan Gabriel Castro, is a Mexican professional baseball coach and former infielder, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, and Philadelphia Phillies, during his 17-year big league career. The 2021 Mexican League season was the 96th season in the history of the Mexican League. The league was contested by 18 teams, evenly divided in North and South zones. The season started on 20 May with the series between Sultanes de Monterrey and Acereros de Monclova and ended on 15 September with the last game of the Serie del Rey, where Toros de Tijuana defeated Leones de Yucatán to win the championship.

Roberto Eduardo Vizcarra Acosta is a Mexican professional baseball manager and former infielder who is the manager of the Leones de Yucatán of the Mexican League (LMB). He made his professional debut in 1986 and played 23 seasons in the Mexican League and 17 seasons in the Mexican Pacific League (LMP). He retired in 2008 and started his career as manager in 2013 with the Tigres de Quintana Roo. Vizcarra won four Mexican League titles as player and has won seven titles as manager, making him the winningest manager in Mexican baseball in recent years.
