Majid Luke Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy (born 5 January 1990), formerly known professionally as Luke Jerdy, is a British actor. [2] He is best known for his portrayal of Jesse Donovan in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks , [3] a role in which he played regularly from April 2016 until January 2020. [4] He has also performed in the theatre. [5]

Early life

Jerdy is from Derby in the East Midlands, and is half-Iranian. [2] His full name is Majid Luke Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy, but he changed it to avoid confusing casting directors. [6] He studied at the Manchester School of Theatre, graduating in 2011. [7]

Career

Before his role in Hollyoaks, he featured in The Turing Enigma (2011), Act/Or (2015), and Chosen (2016). [2]

He also made an appearance in a 2011 episode of Doctors, in an episode titled "An Uneasy Harmony", playing the role of Michael Webb.

Ben Richards is a British stage and television actor and dancer. Richards studied dance from an early age and later took part in theatre. He gained supporting roles in London's West End and gradually filled the role of the lead. After small roles in two films, Richards began his television career with guest roles in various British serials. In 2004, he joined the regular cast of the ITV drama Footballers' Wives and after the series ended he resumed theatre work. Richards went on to secure roles in Holby City and The Bill. While working on the latter, Richards said that he would always pursue his career in theatre. After leaving the series he returned to theatre work. In 2015, he joined the cast of the soap opera Hollyoaks and finished filming the following year. He then returned to stage roles in the West End.

Scott Drinkwell is a fictional character from the British soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Ross Adams. The character made his first appearance on 27 April 2015. Producers asked Adams to audition for the role while he was working as a script editor on rival soap opera Emmerdale. The actor forgot his lines during his screen test but was still offered the role. The character was billed as a "troublesome new relative" joining the show's established O'Connor family. He is the cousin of Sinead O'Connor and nephew to Diane Hutchinson. Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood introduced the character to cause conflict with other characters.

Kerry Bennett is a British television and theatre actress. Bennett grew up in Stockport, England, and began her career aged fourteen acting in theatre productions. She rose to prominence playing the role of Jess Cranham in the BBC medical drama Casualty and Eva Falco in the soap opera Hollyoaks. Bennett has also appeared in numerous other British television dramas, soap operas and short films. Bennett has also participated in voice over work and continued to pursue her theatrical career when not signed to television or film roles.
