Luke Murray is an American college basketball coach who is an assistant for the UConn Huskies men's basketball team.
Murray was born to actor Bill Murray and Margaret Kelly. [1] He attended St. Luke's School in New Canaan, Connecticut, where he played basketball and football. [2] Murray attended Fairfield University and graduated in 2007. [3] He began coaching AAU basketball during his freshman year at Fairfield. [4] He later served as an assistant on an AAU team coached by former Boston Celtics head coach John Carroll during his final years in college. [5]
Murray began his college coaching career in 2007 as the director of basketball operations at Quinnipiac under coach Tom Moore. [6] After one season he was hired as an assistant coach at Post University. Murray left Post to take a graduate assistant position at Arizona in 2009. [7]
Murray was hired as an assistant coach at Wagner by head coach Dan Hurley. [8] He was hired to the coaching staff at Towson in 2011. [2] Murray was hired at Rhode Island, reuniting him with Hurley. [5]
Murray was hired to head coach Chris Mack's staff at Xavier in 2015 after two seasons at Rhode Island. [9] He followed Mack when he was hired as the head coach at Louisville in 2018. [10] Murray also served as the primary recruiter for the Cardinals in addition to his assistant coaching duties. [11] His contract was not renewed at the end of the 2020–2021 season. [12]
Murray was hired a third time by Dan Hurley, now the head coach at UConn, on May 3, 2021. [13] He began coordinating the Huskies offense prior to the start of the team's 2022–2023 national championship season. [14] He continued as offensive coordinator the following season as UConn repeated as national champion. [15] [16] Murray signed a three-year contract extension on July 8, 2024. [17]

The UConn Huskies football team is a college football team that represents the University of Connecticut in the sport of American football. The team competes in NCAA Division I FBS as an independent. Connecticut first fielded a team in 1896, and participated in Division I-AA until 1999. The Huskies began their two-year Division I-A transition period in 2000, and became a full-fledged Division I-A team in 2002. From 2000 to 2003, the team played as an independent. The school's football team then joined the conference of its other sport teams, the Big East, taking effect in 2004, through 2019. In 2019, the UConn football team left the American to again play as an independent, as the school's current primary conference, the current Big East, does not sponsor the sport. The Huskies currently are coached by Jim Mora.

Rob Ambrose is an American college football coach. From 2009 to 2022, he was head coach of the Towson Tigers football team of Towson University. Ambrose was formerly the offensive coordinator of the UConn Huskies before being announced as Towson's head coach in December 2008. Ambrose played wide receiver for Towson in the early 1990s. Ambrose was selected as the Top FCS Coach for the 2011 season. In 2013, Towson advanced to the FCS National Championship Game for the first time in school history. Ambrose played his high school ball at Maryland's Middletown High School.
Christopher Lee Mack is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at the College of Charleston. He formerly served as head coach for the University of Louisville and Xavier University.
Daniel S. Hurley is an American men's college basketball coach who is the head coach of the UConn Huskies. In 2023 and 2024, Hurley led UConn to back-to-back NCAA Division I national championships. He previously coached at Rhode Island and Wagner.
Kevin Freeman is an American basketball coach and former professional player who is an assistant coach for the UConn Huskies. He played professionally for eleven years in several countries and as a collegian was a starter on UConn's first NCAA championship team.
Greg Scruggs is an American football assistant coach and former defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2012 NFL draft, after playing college football at Louisville. He also played for the New England Patriots and the Chicago Bears. Scruggs was a defensive line coach for the New York Jets, Cincinnati Bearcats and the Wisconsin Badgers.
The 2013–14 UConn Huskies women's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut (UConn) in the 2013–14 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Huskies were led by 29th-year head coach Geno Auriemma and played their home games at three different venues: the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, on campus at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut and a game at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This was UConn's first season as a member of the American Athletic Conference, known as The American. The Huskies finished the season with a perfect 40–0, 18–0 in the American Conference in winning both the regular season and the tournament titles. They received an automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament and won their ninth National Championship by defeating Notre Dame. The previous day, Connecticut also won the men's tournament. It was just the second time in NCAA history the same school had won both the men's and women's tournaments; UConn first accomplished that feat in 2004.
T. J. Weist is an American football coach who is an assistant special teams coach for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He was the senior offensive analyst for University of Michigan in 2015 and interim head coach of the Connecticut Huskies football team for the 2013 season.
The 2017–18 UConn Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies were led by sixth-year head coach Kevin Ollie. The Huskies split their home games between the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus in Storrs, Connecticut as members of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 14–18, 7–11 in AAC play to finish in eighth place. They lost in the first round of the AAC tournament to SMU.

The Huskies were led by first-year head coach Dan Hurley and participated as members of the American Athletic Conference. The Huskies split their home games between the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus in Storrs, Connecticut. They finished the season 16–17, 6–12 in AAC play to finish in a tie for ninth place. They defeated South Florida in the first round of the AAC tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Houston.

The 2020–21 UConn Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies were led by third-year head coach Dan Hurley in their first season of the Big East Conference. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Huskies played all of their home games this year at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus in Storrs, Connecticut.
The 2021–22 UConn Huskies women's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut (UConn) during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Huskies, led by Hall of Fame head coach Geno Auriemma in his 37th season at UConn, split their home games between Harry A. Gampel Pavilion and the XL Center and were members of the Big East Conference, which they joined for women's basketball the previous season. UConn was a member of the original Big East Conference from 1979 through 2013, and one of the original women's basketball teams in that conference in 1982.
The 2021–22 UConn Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies were led by fourth-year head coach Dan Hurley in the team's second season since their return to the Big East Conference. The Huskies played their home games at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut and the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. They finished the season 23–10, 13–6 in Big East play to finish in third place. They defeated Seton Hall in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals of the Big East tournament where they lost to Villanova. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 5 seed in the West Region, where they were upset in the First Round by New Mexico State.
