Illinois State University (ISU) is a public research university in Normal, Illinois. It was founded in 1857 as Illinois State Normal University and is the oldest public university in Illinois. The university emphasizes teaching and is recognized as one of the top ten largest producers of teachers in the US according to the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".
Augsburg University is a private university in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It was founded in 1869 as a Norwegian-American Lutheran seminary known as Augsburg Seminarium. Today, the university enrolls approximately 3,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students. Augsburg is known for its emphasis on service learning; volunteering in the community is both an instructional strategy and a required part of a student's coursework.
Concordia College (CCNY) was a private college in Bronxville, New York. It was sponsored by the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) and was a member of the Concordia University System. It was chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York to offer associate, bachelor, and master's degrees.
Dana College was a private college in Blair, Nebraska. Its rural 150-acre campus is approximately 26 miles (40 km) northwest of Omaha and overlooks a portion of the Missouri River Valley. The campus was planned to be purchased by Midland University, which expressed its intention to re-open the campus in 2015 or 2016, but dropped plans in early 2016.
Upsala College (UC) was a private college affiliated with the Swedish-American Augustana Synod and located in East Orange in Essex County, New Jersey in the United States. Upsala was founded in 1893 in Brooklyn, New York City, and moved to Kenilworth, and finally to East Orange in 1924. In the 1970s, Upsala considered moving to Wantage Township in rural Sussex County as East Orange's crime problem magnified and social conditions deteriorated. However, the college administration and trustees chose to remain committed to East Orange. Declining enrollment and financial difficulties forced the school to close in 1995.
Chicago State University (CSU) is a predominantly black (PBI) public university in Chicago, Illinois. It includes an honors program for undergraduates, and offers bachelors and masters degrees in the arts and sciences. CSU was founded in 1867 as the Cook County Normal School, an innovative teachers college. Eventually the Chicago Public Schools assumed control of the school from the county and it became Chicago Teachers College (CTC). Northeastern Illinois University began as a branch campus in 1949. In 1951, the State of Illinois began funding the college, and assumed control in 1965, transforming it into a comprehensive state college. In 1967, it became Chicago State University. CSU is a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
Concordia University was a private Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) university in Portland, Oregon, that closed in spring 2020. One remaining program, the accelerated bachelor's degree in nursing, continues to operate under another Concordia University System school.

Lutheran Middle and High School North (LHSN)(All encompassing)is a parochial Christian high school in St. Louis County, Missouri in the United States. It currently offers education in grades six through twelve, and is associated with the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. Along with Lutheran High School South, the school belong to the Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis. Lutheran North's mission states the following:

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (ALGH) is a 645-bed non-profit teaching hospital located in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Illinois. Founded in 1897, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is the sixth largest hospital in the Chicago area, and it operates a Level I trauma center. It also is home to Advocate Children's Hospital – Park Ridge, the only children's hospital in the greater north and northwest suburban region of Chicago. The hospital is a part of Advocate Aurora Health.
Lutheran High School of Hawaii (LHSH) was a Lutheran High School located on the grounds of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 1404 University Avenue in Honolulu on Oahu, Hawaii. LHSH was accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS), and National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA), and was a member of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) and PAC-5 sports programs.
Wisconsin Lutheran High School, commonly referred to as WLHS or Wisco, is a private preparatory religious high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. WLHS was formed when the Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, founded in 1903, split in the 1950s over doctrinal differences. Both resulting schools use the 1903 founding date and are thus the oldest Lutheran high schools in the United States. WLHS is owned and operated by various Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) congregations in the Milwaukee area.

Palatine High School, or PHS, is a public four-year high school in Township High School District 211. Located at 1111 N. Rohlwing Road in Palatine, Illinois, United States, a northwest suburb of Chicago, it serves primarily all of and only those areas of Palatine northeast of the UP NW tracks, but also serves small portions of Arlington Heights and Barrington. In addition, PHS is a magnet school for the entire district's special education program. Feeder schools include Winston Campus Junior High and Sundling Junior High. Christ Community Lutheran School or "CCLS" is a private, Lutheran school serving approximately 650 students ages 6 weeks–8th grade in the St. Louis area. Four campuses comprise Christ Community Lutheran School in the Crestwood, Glendale, Kirkwood, and Webster Groves areas. CCLS was named a 2009 Nationally Recognized Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. In 2018, CCLS was recognized as an Accredited Exemplary School by the National Lutheran School Accreditation Commission.
Crean Lutheran High School is a private Lutheran high school in Irvine, California. The school was founded in 2007 as Lutheran South High School and had its initial campus at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church in the Woodbridge neighborhood of Irvine. In 2010, Crean Lutheran opened its own campus in southeastern Irvine near the Woodbury neighborhood. The school was renamed after John and Donna Crean, local philanthropists who donated US$10,000,000 to the school in its first year.
