Lynbrook Union Free School District

The Lynbrook Union Free School District is a public school district serving portions of the southwestern part of the Town of Hempstead. The school district includes most of the Village of Lynbrook and parts of the unincorporated areas of Lynbrook as well as portions of East Rockaway, Hewlett, Hewlett Harbor, and Valley Stream. [1]

At one time the East Rockaway School District proposed paying the Lynbrook district to have East Rockaway students in grades 7 through 12 attend public schools in Lynbrook; the Lynbrook district rejected the offer. [2]

The Hewlett-Woodmere Public School District, Union Free School District 14, is located in the southwest section of Nassau County, New York and borders the New York City borough of Queens. Communities in the district include, in full or in part, Hewlett, Woodmere, Woodsburgh, North Woodmere an unincorporated area of Valley Stream, the Gibson section of Valley Stream, Hewlett Harbor, Hewlett Neck, and Hewlett Bay Park, as well as parts of Lynbrook, all comprise the geographical boundaries for the school district. There are approximately 4,400 students enrolled in pre-K through 12th grade. The district is operated under the supervision of a seven-member Board of Education.

The Rockaway Borough Public Schools are a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Rockaway Borough, in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

Brian F. Curran is an American politician from Lynbrook, New York. Curran was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2010. His district includes parts of Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Rockville Centre, South Hempstead and portions of Baldwin, Oceanside, East Rockaway, Malverne and North Lynbrook. He was defeated by Judy Griffin of Rockville Centre in the November, 2018 general election. In 2022, he won his old seat back by defeating Griffin in a rematch.

Peninsula Boulevard is a major, 9.1-mile-long (14.6 km) arterial road through southwestern Nassau County, on Long Island, New York. It runs southwest-to-northeast between Cedarhurst connecting the Five Towns area to the Village of Hempstead – in addition to indirectly serving The Rockaways in Queens.

East Rockaway School District is a school district headquartered in East Rockaway, New York. The district was established in 1924. The district is the smallest in Nassau County. In 1992 it had 1,150 students.

New York's 21st State Assembly district is one of the 150 districts in the New York State Assembly. It has been represented by Brian Curran since 2023, defeating Judy Griffin. He previously represented the district between 2011 and 2018.
