Lynk, previously known as At Sunset were an Australian pop rock band currently consisting of brothers Harrison, Andrew and Matthew Kantarias. [1] Past members include Jae Curtis and 2008 Australian Idol competitor Tom Jay Williams. The band currently reside in Adelaide, South Australia. [2] They are best known as winners of the Nova FM Fresh Discovery [3] and MTV (Australia and New Zealand) Brand New [4] competitions.
At Sunset formed in January 2012 in Adelaide, when university friends Harrison Kantarias and Jae Curtis got together and started playing covers at their local pubs. During a rehearsal session, Harrison's brother Andrew joined in which led to the curation of At Sunset. [5] The band began by performing covers and posting them to YouTube, which received significant social media attention, particularly for their cover of One Direction's One Thing. [5] They also amassed over a million views for their cover of Justin Bieber's As Long As You Love Me. [5]
When later asked the reasons for the name "At Sunset", Harrison Kantarias noted 'At Sunset' was decided upon because: "the name is a metaphor for our feeling towards music. We like to be upbeat, positive and really just enjoying life. Playing music, setting suns, beaches, pools, girls in bikinis... it doesn't get better than that, does it?" [6]
In 2012, At Sunset released their first EP, 'Back in Time'. The EP was released digitally, with physical copies only being sold at live shows.
On 24 February 2014, Curtis announced via his YouTube channel that he was leaving the band. [7] Following this news, on 26 March 2014 the band announced local Adelaide solo act Tom Jay Williams would be joining in Jae's place. [8] Williams was formerly a contestant on Australian Idol in 2008. [9] He was the youngest ever top ten finalist during an Australian Idol series.
Following Williams joining the band, 'Back in Time' was re-released on 23 April 2014 and featured on MTV "Buzzworthy". [10] Their first cover video as a new band, 'Replay', received over 400,000 views in the first two weeks of uploading and was endorsed by the original artist Zendaya. [11]
On 30 March 2015, At Sunset were announced the winner of Nova FM's Fresh Discovery, an Australian-wide search for unsigned talent, ahead of 1500 other acts. [3] This win was followed by a mentoring session with Ed Sheeran and a recording deal with Warner Music Australasia for their debut single Every Little Thing, [2] which was released on 10 April 2015. [12]
Later in 2015, At Sunset were nominated for MTV (Australia and New Zealand)'s Brand New competition. [4] After receiving more than 200,000 votes, At Sunset were announced the winner at an MTV special event at The Metro Theatre on 22 September 2015, ahead of runner up Conrad Sewell. [13]
On 22 January 2016, At Sunset released their single Kiss Me. [14]
On 30 June 2016, At Sunset announced on their social media accounts that they were disbanding, and LYNK was formed. Harrison and Andrew have continued together in this band with their younger brother Matthew Kantarias, however Tom has veered onto a solo pathway and is currently writing songs.
On 16 November 2016, LYNK released the first cover with the new name on their YouTube channel, a cover/mashup of 'Closer' by The Chainsmokers and Troye Sivan's 'Youth'.
In November 2017, Lynk appeared on the YouTube series Best Cover Ever. [15] The same month, they also announced the release of the first song under the new band name, titled ‘Rude’, featuring American singer, songwriter and actress Elle Winter. The song was released on YouTube on 21 November 2017. [16] An iTunes and Spotify release followed on 8 December 2017. [17] [18]
In May 2012, At Sunset travelled to Singapore to perform at the Music Matters with Boyce Avenue. [19]
In January 2013, At Sunset toured with Australian pop artist Reece Mastin. [20] Following the Reece Mastin regional tour, At Sunset headlined the Teen Rush Australian Tour from 6–20 April 2013 with bands Titanium and Kristina. This tour played Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. [21]
In May 2014, At Sunset undertook a promotional tour in the USA, consisting of performances in Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and New York. [22] The band did interviews with Ryan Seacrest, Tiger Beat, The Rhode Show, KIIS FM, KARE 11 News and KDWB. [22]
At Sunset toured with Nickelodeon Slimefest in September 2015 to Melbourne and Sydney, alongside other acts such as Boyce Avenue and The Veronicas. [23]
In January 2016, At Sunset toured Australia and New Zealand with American acts R5 and Jack & Jack. [24] At the conclusion of this tour, At Sunset also opened for UK band The Vamps at their Wake Up World Tour in Sydney. This was held at Allphones Arena on 23 January 2016. [25]
In February 2016, At Sunset toured in Manila, Philippines. They opened for Boyce Avenue at their arena show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on 16 February 2016. [26] As part of promotion for this show, At Sunset performed alongside Savannah Outen at a Valentine's Day event at SM Southmall on 14 February 2016. [27]
Following their return from the Philippines, At Sunset conducted a headline tour of Australia to coincide with their new single, Kiss Me. The Kiss Me Tour toured to Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in March 2016. [28]
In July 2016, Lynk travelled back to Manila, Philippines for the first time as the new line up to perform at the 'Own It' concert with other YouTube sensations. This took place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, where they opened for Boyce Avenue back in February of that year when the band were still known as ‘At Sunset’, and the announcement that they would perform at this concert was made before the band was renamed. They also performed at the SM Southmall again with a few other 'Own It' performers. [29]
In late October 2016, it was announced that Lynk would be opening for Shawn Mendes at his debut Australian shows in Sydney. These shows took place at the Enmore Theatre on 1 and 2 November 2016. [30]

Placebo is a British alternative rock band, formed in London in 1994 by vocalist–guitarist Brian Molko and bassist–guitarist Stefan Olsdal, and in late 1994 Robert Schultzberg joined as drummer. Molko was born in Belgium and Olsdal and Schultzberg in Sweden; Molko and Olsdal grew up in Luxembourg before separately relocating to London and becoming British citizens. Schultzberg left the band in 1996 shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album due to conflicts with Molko, and was replaced the same year by Steve Hewitt.

Yellowcard is an American rock band that formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997. The lineup currently consists of lead singer Ryan Key, lead guitarist Ryan Mendez, bassist Josh Portman and violinist Sean Mackin. Primarily a pop-punk group, their music is recognized for having a distinct and unique sound in its genre due to their prominent use of a violin. The group's most-recognized singles include "Ocean Avenue", "Only One", and "Lights and Sounds". Released in 2003, "Ocean Avenue" and its parent album of the same name are both certified double platinum and platinum in the US respectively by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA); "Only One" and the band's 2006 album Lights and Sounds have been certified gold. The band has released ten studio albums, with its most recent, Yellowcard, released on September 30, 2016. Following this release and supporting tour, the band broke up. The band reunited in September 2022 for a performance at Riot Fest and embarked on a 20th-anniversary tour for Ocean Avenue in 2023. A new EP, Childhood Eyes, was released on July 21, 2023.
Steel Panther is an American comedic glam metal band from Los Angeles, California. Fronted by lead singer Michael Starr, the band formed in 2000 as Metal Shop and was also known as Metal Skool before adopting the name Steel Panther in 2008. The band is known for its profane and humorous lyrics, and for parodying the stereotypical glam metal lifestyle.
We the Kings is an American rock band formed in Bradenton, Florida, in 2005. The band's eponymous full-length debut album, released in 2007, included the platinum single "Check Yes Juliet", and went on to sell over 250,000 copies in the US. The group's second album Smile Kid (2009) included Top 40 singles "Heaven Can Wait" and "We'll Be a Dream", as well as the single "She Takes Me High".
Boyce Avenue is an American cover band formed in Sarasota, Florida, by brothers Alejandro Luis Manzano, Daniel Enrique Manzano, and Fabian Rafael Manzano. Boyce Avenue releases original music as well as covers of contemporary and classic songs. The band is named after a combination of two streets the brothers lived on as children. As of August 9, 2011, they are no longer signed to Universal Republic Records and have started their own independent record label called 3 Peace Records.
John Patrick Ruffo was an Australian singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, actor, and television presenter. He rose to prominence after finishing in third place on the third season of The X Factor Australia. His debut single "On Top" (2012), peaked at number fourteen on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified platinum. His second single "Take It Home" (2012), peaked at number thirty in Australia and earned a gold music certification. In total he released seven singles during his career.
"Good Night" is the debut single by British-Australian recording artist Reece Mastin, who won the third series of The X Factor (Australia) in 2011. It was released digitally on 22 November 2011, shortly after the show ended, as the lead single from his self-titled debut album. The song was written by Hayley Warner with Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci of the songwriting and production duo DNA Songs. "Good Night" received mixed to positive reviews from music critics, most of whom noted its similarities to Pink's "Raise Your Glass" (2010). The song debuted at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart, and became the first number-one winner's single for The X Factor (Australia). It was certified five times platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), denoting sales of 350,000 copies. "Good Night" also peaked at number one in New Zealand and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ).
Echosmith is an American indie pop band formed in February 2006 in Chino, California. Originally formed as a quartet of siblings, the band currently consists of Sydney, Noah, and Graham Sierota, following the departure of eldest sibling Jamie in 2016. Echosmith started first as "Ready Set Go!" until they signed to Warner Bros. Records in May 2012. They are best known for the song "Cool Kids", which reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA with over 1,200,000 sales in the United States and also double platinum by ARIA in Australia. The song was Warner Bros. Records' fifth-biggest-selling-digital song of 2014, with 1.3 million downloads sold. The band's debut album, Talking Dreams, was released on October 1, 2013.
The Never Ending was an American indie folk band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2013. The Never Ending debuted as a 6-member band with Debby Ryan, Kyle Moore, Johnny Franco, Edwin Carranza, Carman Kubanda and Harry Alen. After the release of the EP 'One', Edwin Carranza, Carman Kubanda and Harry Alen left the band to pursue other personal projects. As of 2015, the band is a trio consisting of vocalist Debby Ryan, guitarist Kyle Moore and drummer Johnny Franco.

Oceans Ate Alaska are a British metalcore band hailing from Birmingham formed in 2010. The band was signed to Fearless Records and are known for "uniting boundaries between multiple genres in modern metal" and for "fusing unpredictable polyrhythms and sporadic partnering of melodic and dissonant passages". Original vocalist, James Harrison came up with the band name; naming it after the 1958 Lituya Bay earthquake and megatsunami that swallowed one of Alaska’s gulfs.
Takudzwa Victoria Rosa "Tkay" Maidza is a Zimbabwean-born Australian singer-songwriter and hip hop artist from Adelaide, South Australia. She has been nominated for and won many awards, and released two albums: Tkay (2016) and Sweet Justice (2023). She collaborated with Flume on her 2023 single "Silent Assassin".
Nickelodeon SlimeFest is an annual music and entertainment festival organized by the American children's network Nickelodeon. Originally held in Australia, other SlimeFest festivals were then held in various parts of the world, including the United States, which held its most recent edition in June 2019.

Tom Jay Williams is an Australian pop singer and songwriter who was the youngest finalist on the Australian Idol series placing 10th on Season 6 in 2008 at 16 years old. He subsequently signed to Sony Music Australia and released his debut single LOL in March 2010. His 2017 single 'Closure' led to a partnership with YouTube and reached number 2 on Japanese music charts.
