M. P. George

M.P. George was the Kerala state President of Indian Federal Democratic Party (IFDP). [1] He is leading a splinter faction of IFDP. When P. C. Thomas merge IFDP with Kerala Congress (Joseph), M. P. George retained IFDP. In 2014, with an aim for Nationalism, Federalism and Socialism, IFDP (M. P. George) merged with All India Forward Bloc.

Later he split from AIFB and formed Forward Bloc Secular, which later merged in All India Federal Bloc.

The United Left Front was an electoral alliance in West Bengal, India, formed ahead of the 1962 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. Socialism in India is a political movement founded early in the 20th century, as a part of the broader movement to gain Indian independence from colonial rule. The movement grew quickly in popularity as it espoused the causes of India's farmers and labourers against the zamindars, princely class and landed gentry. Socialism shaped the principal economic and social policies of the Indian government but mostly followed Dirigism after independence until the early 1990s, when India moved towards a more market-based economy. However, it remains a potent influence on Indian politics, with many national and regional political parties espousing democratic socialism.

P. C. George Indian politician

Planthottathil Chacko George is an Indian politician. George is a six-time and ex Member of the Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.) of the Poonjar constituency in the Kottayam district of Kerala state. He was in the Kerala Legislative Assembly for 25 years. After the legislative election 2016, he created his own party named as Kerala Janapaksham (Secular). He also ended all connections from his former party Kerala Congress (Secular).

The West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, 1967 was held in Indian state of West Bengal in 1967 to elect 280 members to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. United Front led by Ajoy Mukherjee won majority of seats in the election, and formed first non-Congress government of the state.

Kerala's major political parties are aligned under two coalitions, namely the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF) since the late 1970's. Kerala was the first Indian state to have coalition government as early as 1960.
