Edeh Sylvester Chisom (born 10 September 1993), better known by his stage name as MC Monica, is a Nigerian comedian and event compere. He has headlined several top comedy shows in Nigeria, some of which include: "AY Live" hosted by Ayo Makun, "Basketmouth unprovoked" hosted by Basketmouth, "My Confession", "Pencil Unbroken" and "Sabinus Live in London", hosted by Mr. Funny. He is also the host of the "Starch Ur Teeth" comedy show. [1] [2]

Background and education

MC Monica hails from Isi Uzo Local Government Area in Enugu state, southeast Nigeria. He holds a degree in Fine and Applied Arts from the Niger Delta University in Bayelsa State, south-south Nigeria.

Career

MC Monica started a career in comedy in 2014, from the streets of Bayelsa State. His signature stand-up comedy show, ‘Starch Ur Teeth’ kickstarted in 2016 and is now a celebrated annual event, with five successful editions.

Beyond comedy, MC Monica is said to have touched the lives of several persons following the setting up of his "D Children Must Chop" programme. The programme is now known as "Edeh Sylvester Chisom Foundation" report has it that this initiative has touched many lives across 21 states in Nigeria, addressing hunger and championing education.

MC Monica has featured in several top comedy shows across Nigeria, with videos of his stage performance gaining traction across social media garnering millions of views on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. [3]

He recently announced the maiden edition of his comedy show titled "From Bayelsa to Lagos", a journey of laughter and culture, the event would be hosted in Terra Kulture in Lagos, southwest Nigeria. [4]
