MTV Sound Trippin is a music television docuseries on MTV India, part of the channel's strategy to place focus on original music. [1]
The show follows Hindi film music director Sneha Khanwalkar, who travels to ten cities across the country to record unusual sounds and create ten songs, one for each place she visits, that capture the spirit of the places. The show has been well received. Amitava Sanyal of Hindustan Times called it a "remarkable experiment". [6] Sneha Mahadevan of DNA said that "The shoots, crisp edits, refreshingly new visuals take this show to a new level altogether". [7]

She had been nominated in Best Music Director category at the 58th Filmfare Awards for Gangs of Wasseypur Part 1 & Part 2. She is only the second woman to gain a nomination in this category 28 years after Usha Khanna.

It features an acoustic performance taped at Sony Music Studios in New York City on May 13 of that year for the television series MTV Unplugged. The show's purpose is to present name artists, and feature them stripped of studio equipment. The performance was accompanied by musicians from the Vitamin String Quartet, a gospel choir and included the contribution of the band's fans.
