MV Maersk Rubicon, previously known as the Hanjin Aqua and the Kmarin Aqua is a post-Panamax container ship owned and operated by Maersk that ran aground in Indonesia in 2015. [3]
The ship was constructed by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., South Korea. The keel was laid in September 2012 and the ship was launched in January 2013 as the MV Hanjin Aqua under the flag of Panama and delivered to its owner, Hanjin. On 4 December 2015, whilst sailing as the Hanjin Aqua, the ship ran into rocks in the Sunda Strait off the coast of Indonesia whilst en route from Adelaide to Jakarta. [3] [4] As a result, significant damage was caused to the forward end of the ship, flooding a number of ballast tanks and the forward cargo hold, as well as damaging the ship's bow thruster. [5]
Initially, the ship's crew attempted to refloat the vessel without assistance before a salvage operation was undertaken to remove the ship from the rocks. The ship was successfully removed from the rocky shallows in January 2016 and taken to Singapore for repairs. [5]

Pasha Bulker, later known as MV Drake and now MV Anthea, is a Panamax bulk carrier of 76,741 tonnes deadweight (DWT) operated by the Lauritzen Bulkers shipping company and owned by Japanese Disponent Owners. While waiting in the open ocean outside Newcastle harbour to load coal, Pasha Bulker ran aground during a major storm on 8 June 2007 on Nobbys Beach, New South Wales, Australia. It was refloated and moved to a safe location offshore on 2 July 2007 before being towed to Japan for major repairs on 26 July 2007.
Hanjin Venezia, formerly named the Cosco Busan, is a 275 m (902 ft) container ship. On 7 November 2007, it collided with the protective fender of the Delta Tower of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge in heavy fog. The collision sliced open two of its fuel tanks and led to the Cosco Busan oil spill in San Francisco Bay. She was renamed the Hanjin Venezia after the accident.

MV Thorco Cloud was a general cargo ship owned by Thorco Projects that sank in the Singapore Strait in December 2015 after a collision with the chemical tanker MV Stolt Commitment. The collision resulted in six casualties from a total crew of 12. The collision caused the ship to split into two parts, which sank approximately 1.85 kilometres (1.15 mi) apart at a depth of 70 metres (230 ft) in the traffic separation scheme of the Singapore Strait, one of the world's busiest shipping lanes. The wreck was removed in 2019.
MV Zhe Hai 168 is a Chinese Supramax bulk carrier operated by Zhejiang Shipping Group that ran aground in the Philippines in April 2016 and April 2023. It has an overall length of 190 m (620 ft), a width of 32.3 m (106 ft), and a draft of 11.3 m (37 ft). It has a gross tonnage of 33,147 GT and a carrying capacity of 57,033 DWT.
