Newfoundland and Labrador is the easternmost province of Canada, in the country's Atlantic region. The province comprises the island of Newfoundland and the continental region of Labrador, having a total size of 405,212 km2 (156,453 sq mi) As of January 1, 2024, the population of Newfoundland and Labrador was estimated to be 541,391. The island of Newfoundland is home to around 94 per cent of the province's population, with more than half residing in the Avalon Peninsula. Labrador shares a land border with both the province of Quebec and the territory of Nunavut on Killiniq Island. The French overseas collectivity of Saint Pierre and Miquelon lies about 20 km (12 mi) west of the Burin Peninsula.

Fogo Island is the largest of the offshore islands of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The Town of Fogo Island encompasses Fogo, Joe Batt's Arm-Barr'd Islands-Shoal Bay, Seldom-Little Seldom and Tilting, with the unincorporated areas of Fogo Island. It lies off the northeast coast of Newfoundland, northwest of Musgrave Harbour across Hamilton Sound, just east of the Change Islands. The island is about 25 km (16 mi) long and 14 km (8.7 mi) wide. The total area is 237.71 km2 (91.78 sq mi).

Channel-Port aux Basques is a town at the extreme southwestern tip of Newfoundland fronting on the western end of the Cabot Strait. A Marine Atlantic ferry terminal is located in the town which is the primary entry point onto the island of Newfoundland and the western terminus of the Newfoundland and Labrador Route 1 in the province. The town was incorporated in 1945 and its population in the 2021 census was 3,547.
Hopedale is a town located in the north of Labrador, the mainland portion of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Hopedale is the legislative capital of the Inuit Land Claims Area Nunatsiavut, and where the Nunatsiavut Assembly meets. As of the 2021 census, it has a population of 596.
Route 1 is a highway in the Canada province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and is the easternmost stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway. Route 1 is the primary east–west road on the island of Newfoundland.
MV Northern Ranger was a Canadian ice-breaking coastal ferry operating in Newfoundland and Labrador. The ship entered service in 1986 for coastal service in Labrador. The vessel provided service between Nain, Newfoundland and Labrador and Happy Valley-Goose Bay, stopping at points between. The ferry was owned and operated by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. At the end of 2018, the ship was taken out of service and replaced by a newer vessel on the route between Nain and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
MV Holiday Island was a Canadian RORO ferry that operated across the Northumberland Strait between the ports of Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island and Caribou, Nova Scotia. The vessel was owned by the Government of Canada and was managed and operated by Northumberland Ferries Limited. After suffering a serious fire, the ship was broken up for scrap in 2023
Change Islands is an outport community in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
MV Superfast IX is a fast ro-pax ferry owned by the Estonian ferry company Tallink, and was under charter to Canadian operator Marine Atlantic until March 2024. In February 2015, Marine Atlantic announced that the lease on the vessel had been renewed until November 2017 for a cost of Can$40 million. It was subsequently extended again, and the vessel was under Marine Atlantic control up to March 2024. Atlantic Vision operated on Marine Atlantic's services between North Sydney, Nova Scotia, and the Newfoundland ports of Channel-Port aux Basques and Argentia, Placentia.
Petite Forte is a local service district and designated place in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is on Placentia Bay and is connected by road via Route 215. Petite Forte is located on the Burin Peninsula which is on the southeast coast of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It fought attempts by the government in the 1960s to resettle. Petite Forte has a population of 69 according to the 2021 census.

Route 335, also known as Farewell Road, is a highway in the northern portion of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The highway's southern terminus is at the junction at Route 331 near the community of Horwood, and its northern terminus is the community of Farewell, a community where the Fogo Island and Change Islands ferries, served by the MV Veteran, depart or arrive.
The Island-class ferries are ferries owned and operated by BC Ferries. Six vessels were built between 2019 and 2021 by Damen Shipyards Group, a Dutch company, in Romania. The first two ships were launched in mid-March 2019, and commenced service in June 2020. Two of an additional four vessels commenced service in April 2022, and the remaining two are due to enter service in late 2022.
Route 333, also known as Fogo Island Road, is a 24.4-kilometre-long (15.2 mi) north–south highway on Fogo Island in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is the primary highway on the island, connecting all of the island's communities with the MV Veteran ferry, which in turn connects them to mainland Newfoundland and the rest of Canada. The highway is one of only two 3-digit highways in the province that use the same number, the other being Route 222.
Sir Charles Hamilton Sound, which has been shortened to and is more commonly known as Hamilton Sound, is a body of water on the northeast coast of the island of Newfoundland, between Fogo Island and the mainland to the south, and including Gander Bay, Dog Bay and Rocky Bay.
Burnside-St. Chads is a local service district and designated place on the Eastport Peninsula in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. A port is located in Burnside through which the MV Grace Sparkes services the isolated island outport of St. Brendan's. Burnside-St. Chads community had a population of 79 in the 2021 census.
