Nightwish is a symphonic metal band from Kitee, Finland. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen. Battle of Ilomantsi

The Battle of Ilomantsi was a part of the Svir–Petrozavodsk Offensive of the Continuation War (1941–1944). It was fought from July 26 to August 13, 1944, between Finland and the Soviet Union in an area roughly 40 kilometers wide and 30 kilometers deep, near the Finnish-Soviet border, close to the Finnish village of Ilomantsi, in North Karelia. The battle ended with a Finnish victory—the last major Soviet attack against Finland was stopped here.

Marshals Cabin

The Marshal's Cabin is a current museum and restaurant at the shores of Lake Punelia in Loppi, Finland, near the Räyskälä village. Originally, the cabin with its courtyards was built as a 14th division birthday present for Marshal C. G. E. Mannerheim in 1942 and was originally located in Rugozero, East Karelia. It also includes a log-built summer house, a banqueting hall and a sauna.
