Maassluis Centrum, formerly Maassluis, is a metro station in Maassluis, The Netherlands.

History

Maassluis station was opened on 17 August 1891 by the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij as part of the opening of the Schiedam–Hoek van Holland railway, also known as the Hoekse Lijn. The HSM was subsequently merged into Nederlandse Spoorwegen in 1938.

The station building was replaced by the current building in 1980.

NS stopped operating the line, including Maassluis railway station, on 1 April 2017 to enable conversion for metro train operations. The station was reopened by RET on 30 September 2019, with preview services operating on 28 September. [1]

Services

As of 2019, Maassluis Centrum is served by 6 trains per hour on RET Metro Line B, of which 3 per hour travel the full length of the route, and 3 travel only as far as Steendijkpolder [1]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Maassluis Steendijkpolder metro station</span> Metro station in South Holland

Steendijkpolder is a metro station on Line B of the Rotterdam Metro located in Maassluis, South Holland. The station entered regular service on 30 September 2019. Whereas located on the former Hoekse Lijn, converted from a railway, this is the only station of the line which never was a railway station and was constructed in 2019, when the railway was converted into rapid transit. Steendijkpolder consists of a side platform for westbound services toward Hook of Holland, and an island platform used by eastbound services toward Nesselande.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Amsteltram</span>

Amsterdam tram line 25, also known as the Amsteltram, is a tram line between Amsterdam Zuid station in Amsterdam and Westwijk in Amstelveen. It officially opened on 13 December 2020. Work is underway to extend the Amsteltram further south to the municipality of Uithoorn. The tram line replaced metro line 51, a light rail line (sneltram) that ceased running south of Amsterdam Zuid station on 3 March 2019 to convert it for low-floor trams. Tram line 5 shares the stops with line 25 between Zuid station and Oranjebaan stations. Line 5 had also shared the same tracks with metro line 51, the former using low-level platforms for regular trams, and the latter using high-level platforms.
