Macedonians form a small minority in Denmark. They are organised in six active associations. [1] The exact number of ethnic Macedonians in Denmark is unknown. However, the number of Macedonian citizens in Denmark is 12,000. [1]

Šarplaninac Dog breed

The Šarplaninac, formerly also known as Illyrian Shepherd Dog, is a dog breed of the livestock guardian type. It is named after the Šar Mountains, a mountain range in the Balkans that extends from the northwestern part of North Macedonia over to Kosovo and to northeastern Albania. It is a mountain dog of molossoid type. In Ottoman times, the dogs of the breed spent the summer in the area of the Šar Mountains and the winter in Thessaly, depending on the needs of the sheep they are used to protect.

Toše Proeski Arena

Toše Proeski National Arena is a sports stadium in Skopje, North Macedonia. It is currently used mostly for football matches, but sometimes also for music concerts or athletics. It is the home stadium of FK Vardar and FK Rabotnički from Skopje, both of which compete in the Macedonian First League, as well as the home ground of the North Macedonia national football team on almost all occasions. On 30 June 2015, the UEFA announced that the National Arena Toše Proeski will host in 2017 for the first time an UEFA Super Cup final. The stadium was previously known as the City Stadium Skopje until 2009 and Philip II National Arena until 2019, when it was renamed in honour of the Macedonian pop icon Toše Proeski.

2009 World Mens Handball Championship

The 2009 World Men's Handball Championship took place in Croatia from 16 January to 1 February, in the cities of Split, Zadar, Osijek, Varaždin, Poreč, Zagreb and Pula. Croatia was selected from a group of four potential hosts which included the Czech Republic, Greece and Romania.

North Macedonia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

North Macedonia, previously presented in the contest as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, has participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 15 times since their debut in the inaugural 2003 contest. Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) is responsible for the county's participation in the contest. North Macedonia has participated in every contest with the exceptions of 2012 and 2014, and will not participate in the upcoming 2020 contest.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national under-17 football team is made up by players who are 17 years old or younger and represents Bosnia and Herzegovina in international football matches at this age level. It is controlled by the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Macedonians in Sweden

According to the official census of 2006, there are 3,669 ethnic Macedonians in Sweden. The Swedish immigrant center reports that there are 6,000 Macedonians in Sweden, but Macedonian Associations and Macedonian foreign ministry claim their number is over 15,000.

2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship

UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2011 was the 18th staging of UEFA's European Under-21 Championship. The final tournament was hosted by Denmark between 11 and 25 June 2011.

2012 European Mens Handball Championship

The 2012 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the tenth edition of the men's continental handball tournament, which was held in Serbia between 15–29 January 2012. Sixteen teams qualified for the event, including host nation Serbia, defending champion France and fourteen national teams through the qualifying tournament. The teams were split into four groups of 4, with the top 3 teams of each group advancing to the main round, carrying the points won against other qualified opponents. Going to the main round with no points, Denmark ended up winning the championship after defeating Serbia in the final with a scoreline of 21–19.

Denmark–North Macedonia relations Diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Denmark and North Macedonia

Denmark–North Macedonia relations refers to the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Denmark and the Republic of North Macedonia. Both countries are members of the Council of Europe, and NATO. Also Denmark is an EU member and North Macedonia is an EU candidate. The Danish embassy in Vienna, Austria is responsible for its relations with North Macedonia and North Macedonia has an embassy in Copenhagen. Denmark recognized North Macedonia on 16 December 1993. Denmark has had an ambassador in Vienna accredited with North Macedonia since January 1994. North Macedonia has maintained an embassy in Copenhagen since 1996. On 1 April 2002, Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Møller visited North Macedonia, where he met the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Ljupčo Georgievski.

Ferhan Hasani

Ferhan Hasani, nicknamed Buba, is a Macedonian professional footballer of Albanian origin who plays for HJK and the North Macedonia national team.

Riza Durmisi is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Italian club Lazio. He has represented Denmark at several youth levels and made his debut for the senior national team in 2015.

The 2015 European Women's U-17 Handball Championship is the 12th edition, which took place in North Macedonia. Sweden was the defending champion but Denmark won.

The 1996–97 Macedonian Football Cup was the 5th season of Macedonia's football knockout competition. FK Sloga Jugomagnat were the defending champions, having won their first title. The 1996–97 champions were FK Sileks who won their second title.
