Machairophora fulvipuncta, not to be confused with the Machairophora moths, is a species of beetle in the family Mordellidae, the only species in the genus Machairophora. [1]
The family Scraptiidae is a small group of beetles sometimes called false flower beetles. There are about 400 species in 30 genera with a world-wide distribution. The adults are found on flowers, sometimes in large numbers. These beetles are very common and easily confused with members of the related family Mordellidae.
Machairophora is a genus of moths in the subfamily Arctiinae first described by George Hampson in 1893. Two species are included, which are found from Sri Lanka and Papua New Guinea only.
