Madivaru Airport( IATA : LMV) is an airport on Madivaru, Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives. [1]

The island was previously used for military training. [2] In May 2018 the government contracted Kuredu Holdings (the developer of Kuredu island) to develop an airport. [2] [3] The project required reclaiming three hectares of land. [2] The construction contractor was Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG). [4]

It is operated by Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL). [5]

Goidhoo School is a small school located in Sh. Goidhoo, Maldives. It is the only primary school in the island, being built in the 1990s. The school is used for various competitions such as Quran competitions, Symposiums, award ceremonies, and sporting events.

Maafaru International Airport is an international airport located on Maafaru, one of the islands of the Noonu Atoll in Maldives. It was officially opened on 1 December 2019. As of 2024, the airport has only domestic services.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Maldives was a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus was confirmed to have spread to Maldives on 7 March 2020 from a 69-year-old Italian tourist who had returned to Italy after spending holidays in Kuredu Resort & Spa. The Health Protection Agency of Maldives confirmed two cases in Maldives, both employees of the resort. Following this, the hotel was locked down with several tourists stranded on the island. As of 11 March, the resorts of Kuredu, Vilamendhoo, Batalaa, and Kuramathi island were also placed under temporary quarantine. Schools were closed as a precaution.

The King Salman Mosque is the largest mosque in the Malé, Maldives, with a capacity of 10,000 worshippers.
