Maduranga Zoysa (born 27 September 1984) is a domestic Sri Lankan right-hand batsman and leg-break bowler currently playing for Sri Lanka Police SC. [1] He recently also joined the Spencer Cricket Club in Surrey,England. [2]
Zoysa and teammate Krishal Magage held the world record for the highest twenty20 wicket partnership with 64* runs. [3] They held the title for more than four years before surrendering it to Dwayne Bravo and Jerome Taylor,who had 66 runs. [4]
The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team,nicknamed The Lions,represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. Herath Mudiyanselage Rangana Keerthi Bandara Herath,known as Rangana Herath,is a former Sri Lankan cricketer,who played all forms of cricket game and a former Test cricket captain for Sri Lanka. Herath is the most successful left arm bowler in Test cricket history. He worked as spin bowling consultant with the Bangladesh cricket team. The Sri Lanka Cricket A Team Triangular Series was a one-day cricket tournament held in Sri Lanka from 21 September 2005 to 1 October 2005. Three A teams participated –Sri Lanka A,South Africa A New Zealand A. These were not the national cricket teams,but rather second XIs made up of players who are not judged good enough for the national side by the national selectors. There was an initial group stage where each team played each other twice,making a total of six matches,before the one-game final determined the winner. The fixtures for the tour were confirmed in June 2022. Pakistan last toured Sri Lanka for a Test series in June and July 2015. On 17 July 2022,Sri Lanka Cricket moved the second Test from the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to the Galle International Stadium due to the economic crisis in the country.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games Qualifier was a cricket tournament played in Malaysia in January 2022. Five national teams competed for one place in the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games,in Birmingham,England,in July to August 2022. Matches in the qualification tournament were played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is).
